Macao presents Chinese New Year blessings on CCTV News Simulcast tonight

China Central Television (CCTV) will present a Light Show in its News Simulcast program tonight as a special highlight for Chinese New Year. The Light Show will take place in over thirty cities to convey best wishes to the people across the Country in the form of light projection. Macao Special Administrative Region is one of the participating cities. In accord with this special program of CCTV, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will project New Year Greetings at Macau Tower tonight (15 February) from 7pm onwards.

Macao Orchestra presents works by great composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the concert “Leonard Bernstein’s 100th Anniversary by Lio Kuokman and Macao Orchestra” on Saturday, 24 February, at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, to pay tribute to Leonard Bernstein, the great virtuoso who has made a crucial contribution to the popularization and promotion of music.


Foreign exchange reserves and nominal effective exchange rate index for the pataca – January 2018

The Monetary Authority of Macao announced today that the preliminary estimate of Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves amounted to MOP163.2 billion (USD20.26 billion) at the end of January 2018. The reserves increased by 0.6% from the revised value of MOP162.3 billion (USD20.17 billion) for the previous month. Macao SAR’s foreign exchange reserves at end-January 2018 represented 11 times the currency in circulation or 89.3% of pataca M2 at end-December 2017.


Appropriate insurance required for private vehicles to use HKZM Bridge

Owners of those private vehicles permitted to use the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao (HKZM) Bridge will be required to purchase appropriate insurance in order to drive their vehicles to and from destinations linked by the cross-Pearl River Delta facility.


Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ in Taipa and Coloane area

Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 14 February for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 12 supermarkets in Taipa and Coloane area.
