Quota rights set for Macao-HK cross-boundary vehicle travel via HKZM Bridge

The Government announced today that under a specific quota initiative there will be 600 permissions for Macao-registered private vehicles to travel to and from Hong Kong once the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao (HKZM) Bridge is launched.


2018MIECF to be Held in April, to Continue Its Role as ‘Green Platform’

The 2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF) will be held from April 12 to 14, with the theme “Shaping of Eco-Cities for Inclusive Green Economy”. The event is organised by the Macao Special Administrative Region and co-organised by the governments of the Pan-Pearl River Delta region, with the support from the official supporting organisations including the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the country’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and Macao’s Environmental Protection Bureau will be the host co-ordinators for the event.


Fitch Ratings Upgrades Macao SAR’s Long-Term Credit Rating to “AA”

According to a press release published by Fitch Ratings today, the international rating agency upgrades Macao SAR’s credit ratings (long-term foreign and local currency issuer default ratings) to “AA” with a “stable” outlook from “AA-”.

Consumer Council hotline available during Chinese New Year Holidays

As consumption by citizens and the number of inbound tourists are expected to increase during Lunar New Year, the Consumer Council held a meeting before the festival with Economic Services Bureau (DSE), Macao Government Tourist Office (DST), Transport Bureau (DSAT), Judiciary Police (PJ), Public Security Police Force (PSP), Macao Custom Service, Civic and Municipal Affairs Council (IACM), Health Bureau (SS) and Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) to discuss on the protection of consumer rights for local citizens as well as inbound tourists.


Mortgage loans statistics – December 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased in December 2017. With regard to the outstanding balance, RMLs and CRELs both witnessed slight monthly increases.
