Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 12 February for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets at Lam Mau, Patane and San Kio areas in Santo António Parish.



UM chip wins ASP-DAC 2018 University LSI Design Contest Special Feature Award

A microelectronics chip and a paper titled ‘A Dual-Output SC Converter with Dynamic Power Allocation for Multi-Core Application Processors’ from the University of Macau (UM) recently received the University LSI Design Contest Special Feature Award at the 23rd Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference (ASP-DAC 2018). The design from UM proposes a new dual-output switched-capacitor power converter with dynamic power-cell allocation for reducing the chip area and increasing the power conversion efficiency for multi-core microprocessors.


Small and medium-sized enterprise credit statistics – Second half of 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, in the second half of 2017, new small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) credit approved rebounded when compared with the first half year. Meanwhile, the outstanding balance of SME loans also recorded growth with the share of SME loans to major industries remained broadly stable.

Consumer Council conducted its specific price survey on tissue papers, household cleansing products, and oral care products on 9 February for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June.


First quarterly lucky draw results of household budget survey announced

The 2017/2018 Household Budget Survey has been carried out for more than four months and good progress has been made thanks to public support. The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) has launched a lucky draw activity in appreciation of the cooperation and support of the households. Households that complete the Survey will automatically enter the Cooperating Households Lucky Draw of the quarter, and members of the cooperating households who complete the Expense Diary online are entitled for the Online Expense Diary Lucky Draw of the quarter to get an additional chance of winning. The first quarterly draws took place on 7 February, officiated by Ieong Meng Chao, Director of DSEC, Wong Teng Yin, Department Chief, Choi Ka I, Division Chief, and Tang Iok Man, Functional Head. A total of 42 winning households and household members are announced as follows:


Macao Public Library launches annual call for Recommendations of Newspapers / Periodicals 2019-2020

In order to meet readers’ demands, the Macao Public Library (BPM) under the Cultural Affairs Bureau launches the “Annual Collection of Recommendations for Newspapers / Periodicals 2019-2020”. Residents are welcome to recommend the subscription of their favourite newspapers or periodicals from today to 4 March (Sunday). They may complete the “Newspaper / Periodical Recommendation Form” and submit it to any branch of the Macao Public Library or email it to inf.bp@icm.gov.mo. The submission of the desired newspapers and periodicals can also be made through the online recommendation form which can be downloaded at Macao Public Library webpage (on Service Guide – Book Purchase Recommendation). The Library will analyse the recommended materials collected, and include the newspapers and periodicals which meet the development objectives of the library collection and therefore which will be inscribed on the 2019-2020 Possible Acquisitions List.


Employment Incentive Programme for Disability Pension Beneficiaries Has Been Officially Implemented

In response to the policy direction of the “Ten-Year Plan for Rehabilitation Services of the Macao Special Administrative Region from 2016 to 2025”, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) formally implemented the Employment Incentive Programme for Disability Pension Beneficiaries (the Programme) on 1st January this year so as to promote the participation of people with disabilities in the community. A total of seven people participated in the Programme in the first month of implementation. The FSS will continue to actively contact social service agencies and relevant beneficiaries, and to step up publicity.
