The Macao SAR Gazette today published Executive Order No. 26/2018 about the increase of birth allowance of the social security system to 5,000 patacas. Its effectiveness dates back to 1 January this year.

Supplements for Philatelic Album of Macao 2017
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will release the “Supplements for Philatelic Album of Macao 2017” on 9February 2018, it will be available for sale at the Philatelic Shop of General Post Office and the Communications Museum. The album pages are pre-printed with all the stamps’ images of 2017. Your collections of stamps and souvenir sheets of 2017 can be put into the pre-printed pages for convenient collection.

Recently, Hengqin New District launched a series of supportive policies in various fields, including industry, technology and talents, which aim to accelerate the development of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macau (hereinafter referred to as the “Industrial Park”) and promote the entry of enterprises to the park. To deepen the understanding of the latest policy by the Chinese medicine enterprises and industry associations in Macau, the Industrial Park held a policy lecture on February 5 at the IPIM’s conference hall, which received support of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), MacauAffairs BureauofHengqinNew Area, Hengqin Bureau of Commerce, and attracted more than (TBC) representatives from the related departments of Macao SAR government, Chinese medicine enterprises, industry associations and scientific research institutes.

Under the baton of the Assistant Conductor of the Macao Orchestra, Francis Kan, the Macao Orchestra will join hands with Portuguese soprano Sofia Escobar and young Chinese tenor Li Yi to bring the audience into the musical theatre world where emotions meet dramatic expression. Consumer Council published new Consumer Report featuring reports on calories and sugar content of chocolate
The World Health Organization (WHO) suggests low sugar intake to maintain good health, the Council therefore conducts tests on sugar contents of food in recent years for consumers’ reference. The Council and the Food Safety Centre of IACM tested 20 samples of chocolate earlier, test result shows that all samples contain high levels of sugar, certain samples are found to contain more sugar than the listed amount on the package.
