Response of the Government of the Macao SAR in regard to the delisting of the Macao SAR from the list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions by the EU

The Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) welcomes the decision of the delisting of the Macao SAR from the list of non-cooperative tax jurisdictions by the EU and reiterates our continued effort to work together with the international community on fighting against cross-border tax evasion as well as actively improving the work in the scope of tax transparency and fair taxation.

UM PhD student wins Excellent Paper Award at Global Chinese Conference on Educational Information and Assessment

Jin Songli, a PhD student from the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Education (FED), received an Excellent Paper Award (Best Four Oral Presentations) at the 2017 Global Chinese Conference on Educational Information and Assessment and Chinese Association of Psychological Testing Annual Conference. The paper has great implications for understanding educational quality and equity of the high-performing education systems of Chinese communities around the world.

Annual Album 2017

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue an exquisite “Annual Album 2017” on 25th January 2018. The design of the protective hardcover highlights the image of the hen and the landmarks of Macao, including: Guia Lighthouse, Ruins of St. Paul’s, Chapel of Our Lady of Penha and Macau Tower. This album comprises the full collection of 13 sets of stamps and 10 souvenir sheets issued in 2017, on which the colour stamp images and the technical data are printed on the pages.


Visitor Arrivals for December 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 3,053,690 in December 2017, the highest monthly record since August 2014, up by 8.5% year-on-year and 7.8% month-to-month. Overnight visitors (1,635,305) and same-day visitors (1,418,385) went up by 5.5% and 12.2% respectively year-on year. The average length of stay of visitors held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors and same-day visitors standing at 2.1 days and 0.2 day respectively.
