Enumerators of the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) have started wearing new uniforms to perform duties from 8 January 2018. The new uniform, designed to be worn all year round, is a dark blue collar vest with a DSEC logo printed on the left chest and with the Chinese name “統計暨普查局” and the Portuguese name “Direcção dos Serviços de Estatística e Censos” of DSEC printed on the back.

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) recently coordinated with the relevant functional departments on the work of increasing the amount of birth allowance of the social security system, the FSS announced today. The proposal for the increase is being scheduled for discussion by the Standing Committee for the Coordination of Social Affairs, which strives to have the proposal implemented on 1^st April.

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the concert “Flourishing Arts” this Friday, 12 January, at 8pm, at St. Dominic’s Church. Xu I Teng and Ieong Neng, award winners at the 35^th Macao Young Musicians Competition, and Mao Fujita, winner of the First Prize in the Piano Competition of the 1^st Zhuhai Mozart International Competition for Young Musicians, join OM on stage and perform under the leadership of OM’s Assistant Conductor, Francis Kan. Tickets will be distributed at the St. Dominic’s Church one hour prior to the performance. Distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to a maximum of two tickets per person.

The Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System (the System) has come into force on 1 January this year. Members of the public can invest and make savings through the provident fund contribution scheme so as to prepare for retirement. At present, a total of five fund management entities have taken the lead to join the System, providing a total of 26 pension funds as the investment instruments for the contributions of the non-mandatory central provident fund system. From now on, members of the public can check the related fund information on the non-mandatory central provident fund system information platform of the Social Security Fund.
