Tickets for “Valentine’s Day Concert – The Phantom of Love” by Macao Orchestra on sale from 7 January

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents “Valentine’s Day Concert – The Phantom of Love” filled with the combination of modern movies and musical on the eve of Valentine’s Day, 10 February, at 8pm, at The Venetian Theatre. Under the baton of Assistant Conductor of the Macao Orchestra, Francis Kan, the Macao Orchestra will join hands with Portuguese soprano Sofia Escobar and renowned young Chinese tenor Li Yi to present beautiful melodies of moving and extraordinary movies and musical. Tickets are available at the Macau Ticketing Network from 7 January, and an early bird 40% discount will be available, subject to certain criteria, between 7-20 January. Further announcement will be made for the ticket sales at all Cotai Ticketing box offices. This concert venue is supported byThe Venetian® Macao.


IFT holds Open Day on 7 Jan (Sunday)

On 7 January, the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) is going to hold the Open Day at IFT Mong-Há Campus. Through various activities, visitors will be able to get to know more about the Institute’s teaching philosophy, learning facilities and environment. The general public is welcome to attend the Open Day, and high school students who are interested in joining IFT, do not miss the chance!


Monetary and financial statistics – November 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply continued to grow in November with a stable share of patacas. Meanwhile, both resident deposits and loans increased from a month earlier.


UM co-organises international conference on cognitive research in translation and interpreting

The Centre for the Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition (CSTIC) of the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) and the Centre for Translation Studies of Beijing Foreign Studies University recently co-organised the fourth edition of the International Conference on Cognitive Research in Translation and Interpreting. This year's conference attracted more than 100 experts and scholars from over 40 well-known institutions in the Greater China region, the United Kingdom, the United States, Japan, Australia, Spain, Denmark, Switzerland, Brazil, Finland, and Poland.


Local View Power challenges local filmmakers CCM evokes new cinematic energies

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is challenging local filmmakers to submit their new cinematic views to be produced and screened in a new edition of “Local View Power” (LVP). Candidates willing to share their exciting perspectives about Macao must present their new projects till January 22, 2018.



Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System is now in Force

Law No. 7/2017 (Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System) came into force on 1 January this year. The original provident fund individual accounts of residents have automatically become government-managed sub-accounts. Starting today, members of the public can pay contributions through the contribution schemes or transfer the balance of government-managed sub-account flexibly in order to appreciate value to their retirement through investment.

If no one shows up within seven days from the date of publish of this notice, the remains of the deceased will be treated as an unclaimed dead body.
