Blooming Spring at CCM Multimedia Circus “Bosch Dreams” and “Anoushka Shankar” Concert

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents multimedia circus Bosch Dreams and the world music concert Anoushka Shankar – “Land of Gold”. Both shows will be staged at the Grand Auditorium on March 18 and 20, 2018, respectively.

UM holds seminar on translation studies and research methodology

The Centre for the Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition (CSTIC) under the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Arts and Humanities recently held the First Roundtable Seminar on Translation Studies and Translation Studies Research Methodology. Under the theme ‘Research Methodologies in Translation Studies in the Era of Big Data and Technology Revolution’, scholars from Macao, mainland China, Denmark, and the United Kingdom exchanged ideas on research methods in the studies of translation history, translation processes, literary translation, translation education, translation as a discursive event, translation universals, and interpreting studies.


Macao will participate in the 16th Venice Biennale of Architecture for the third time

The results of the call for applications for the 16th Venice Biennale of Architecture, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), co-organised by the Architects Association of Macau, are now available. The winning team will have the opportunity to present Macao’s characteristic “Freespace” in Venice, Italy, in May 2018.


Visitor arrivals for November 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 2,833,061 in November 2017, up by 9.4% year-on-year but down slightly by 1.9% month-to-month. Overnight visitors (1,511,769) and same-day visitors (1,321,292) went up by 10.0% and 8.8% respectively year-on year. The average length of stay of visitors held steady year-on-year at 1.2 days, with that of overnight visitors and same-day visitors remaining unchanged at 2.1 days and 0.2 day respectively.


Gross national income for 2016

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that Gross National Income (GNI) at current prices was MOP 331.84 billion in 2016, which was MOP 30.42 billion less than Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices (MOP 362.27 billion), representing a net external factor income outflow of the same amount that was equivalent to 8.4% of GDP in 2016, slightly higher than the value (8.1%) registered in 2015. In 2016, per-capita GNI was MOP 513,809, as compared to per-capita GDP at MOP 560,913.

CTT introduces “e-Advice” Service

CTT Macau is going to launch “e-Advice” Service on 28th Dec 2017. The recipient who registered SEPBox Service will have the option to receive electronic version of Delivery Advice of EMS items or Parcels and the related information.
