IIICF to Be Held from This Thursday to Friday Enhancing Sustainable Development of International Infrastructure for 10 Consecutive Years
The 10th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) will be held at the Venetian Macao from May 30 to 31. At this edition of IIICF, the Principal Steering Unit of the Steering Committee of IIICF are the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of China and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government; the Special Steering Unit is the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; the Member Units are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council. The event is collaboratively organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the China International Contractors Association. The IIICF Organisers held a press conference today (27 May), where IPIM’s Executive Director Sam Lei and the Vice President of the China International Contractors Association Yu Xiaohong introduced the preparation works for the IIICF.

UM, Chinese Academy of Sciences establish joint lab on AI and robotics
The University of Macau (UM) today (27 May) held an inauguration ceremony for the Joint Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics between UM and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), which was followed by a joint forum. The lab aims to provide a platform for collaborative research in artificial intelligence and robotics and is expected to enhance the research capacity of both sides.

MICE statistics for the 1st quarter of 2019
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that number of MICE events held in the first quarter of 2019 increased by 49 year-on-year to 377 (including 362 meetings & conferences, 10 exhibitions and 5 incentives). Total number of participants and attendees rose by 19.9% to 333,000.

Cease of sales of label stamps (“Old Streets and Alleys”) with facial value of MOP2.0.
Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) would like to inform that starting from 30th May of 2019 (Thursday), all automatic stamp vending machines will cease to sell label stamps (“Old Streets and Alleys”) with facial value of MOP2.0. If customers would like to buy stamps with facial value of MOP2.5, they should visit the postal counters of CTT.

2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Film Production Investment and Trade Fair now calls for submissions of Macao film projects
The 2019 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Film Production Investment and Trade Fair (hereafter referred to as ‘the Fair’), co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao (IC), the Film Administration of Guangdong Province and Create Hong Kong, is calling for submissions of Macao film projects from 28 May until 5:00pm, 14 June. All interested parties from the film industry are welcome to submit their works.

DSEC director conversed with students
The Director of the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), Ieong Meng Chao, gave a sharing session titled “A Dialogue between Students and DSEC Director: Let the Numbers Speak” at Pooi To Middle School and Pui Ching Middle School on 16 and 21 May respectively. About 200 students joined the event in which the Director shared his knowledge and insights on statistics, promoted scientific thinking among the students and encouraged them to explore the world through statistics.

UM’s Global Leadership Development Programme now open for enrolment
The seventh module of the Global Leadership Development Programme Series: International Integrated Resort Management, co-organised by the University of Macau’s (UM) Asia-Pacific Academy of Economics and Management (APAEM) and Rikkyo University (RU) in Japan, is now open for enrolment. The programme will take place in Tokyo from 4 July to 7 July. This year’s theme is ‘Strategy and Innovative Value for Integrated Resort in Japan with Minimum Social Disruption’. All are welcome.
