UM scholar receives prestigious award from Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences

Prof Liu Jianhong from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Macau (UM), has been selected to receive the prestigious Gerhard O W Mueller Award for Distinguished Contributions to International Criminal Justice from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) of the United States. With more than 4,000 members internationally, the ACJS is the world’s largest and most highly regarded academic and professional association in criminal justice.



Electronic Payment for Postal Services

In order to facilitate the payment of postal services, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announced that with effect from 2nd January 2018, electronic payment will be available at the Centro de Atendimento Público, postal counter service of Parcel Area and EMS Area in General Post Office, the Rua do Campo Post Office and the Ocean Garden Post Office for all postal services. Payment for postal services for MOP$1,000 or below can be made by “Macau Pass”. However, this does not applicable to Easy Payment Services and purchase of philatelic products.


Change of Office Hours of Airport and Terminal Post Office

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announced that, with effect from 1st January 2018, the office hours of the Airport Post Office located at the 1/F, departure hall of the Macao International Airport and the Terminal Post Office located at the ground floor, arrival hall of the Macao Ferry Terminal,willbe changed as follows:


IC publishes Macao's College and Church of St. Joseph: Splendour of the Baroque in China

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) publishes Macao's College and Church of St. Joseph: Splendour of the Baroque in China. The Church of St. Joseph and the Jesuit College -- today better known as the Seminary of St. Joseph -- is arguably the most important 18th century building of the early Society of Jesus in China and certainly among the most important ones in Macao. The two architectures are now listed as UNESCO cultural heritage buildings.


“2017 Macao International Parade” Traffic/Street special measures and instructions to the public

The “2017 Macao International Parade”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held on Sunday, 17 December, in celebration of the 18th Anniversary of Macao’s handover to China. In order to facilitate the public’s involvement and enjoyment, the organizer is announcing several arrangements including traffic/street special measures and admission guidelines for the public.

Winners of Competition section are unveiled 2nd International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao culminates in success

The Awards Ceremony of the 2nd International Film Festival & Awards.Macao (“IFFAM” or the “Film Festival”) was staged at the Macao Cultural Centre at 8:00 p.m. tonight (14th December) with the presence of around 800 guests including internationally-acclaimed film directors, movie stars and industry professionals from around the world. The Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, Alexis Tam; Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and President of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes; two of the Executive Vice Presidents of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, namely, President of Macau Films & Television Productions and Culture Association (MFTPA), Alvin Chau, and President of Management Committee of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, José Tavares; Acting President of Cultural Affairs Bureau and Vice President of the IFFAM Organizing Committee, Kent Ieong Chi Kin; Talent Ambassador Donnie Yen; Artistic Director of IFFAM, Mike Goodridge; Jury President of IFFAM, Laurent Cantet, as well as Jury members of IFFAM, Joan Chen, Jessica Hausner, Lawrence Osborne and Royston Tan were present at the Awards Ceremony, with famed Hong Kong artists Lawrence Cheng and Astrid Chan being the host of the night.


Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions held Second Plenary Ordinary Meeting of 2017

The Committee for the Development of Conventions and Exhibitions (CDCE) held its second ordinary plenary session today (14th) in the Multi-function Conference Hall of the Macao Business Support Centre. A number of projects to support the methodical development of the MICE industry will be promoted in a systematic manner. At the same time, the Macao MICE Portal will be upgraded with the intent of adding new interactive exhibition venue maps and travel information to provide "one-stop" support services for participants, to get customers and merchants into the community and promote the development of the moderate economic diversification of Macao.
