Many Holidays Fall in Late January and FSS Calls on Residents to Make their Payments as Early as Possible

January is the contribution month of the Social Security System for the fourth quarter of 2019. As of 16 January, there are still about 7,300 employers who have not yet paid the obligatory system contributions for their employees, which accounts for about 34% of the total number of employers who need to pay contributions. The offices of the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) will be closed for the Lunar New Year from the afternoon of 24th January to 29th January, and peak days at the service points are expected to be the working days that follow. The FSS calls on employers to make their payments as early as possible to reduce wait times in queues. Employers using electronic filing service can use electronic payment options; and beneficiaries of the arbitrary system should use electronic channels such as AutoPay, online banking, some ATMs and some self-service machines for their payment.
