Macao Orchestra performs in different cultural venues this weekend

Classical music does not obey to time or space restrictions. The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, breaks away from the traditional concert halls and presents two concerts in different cultural venues, namely at the Tap Seac Gallery on 1 December, at 6:30pm and at the Oriental Foundation on 2 December, at 4pm, performing pieces for string ensemble with a refined and meticulous technique. Admission is free and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.


“Lai Chi Vun Rebirth—Artworks Exhibition of Lai Chi Vun Shipyards Area” opens at Anim’Arte Nam Van on Friday

Co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Macau Artist Society and the Macau Lifestyle Association, “Lai Chi Vun Rebirth—Artworks Exhibition of Lai Chi Vun Shipyards Area” will be inaugurated on Friday, 1 December, at 6:30pm, at the Lakeside Gallery - Room S1 in the Anim’Arte NamVan.


External merchandise trade statistics for October 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise export for October 2017 amounted to MOP806 million, up by 6.1% year-on-year; value of re-exports (MOP686 million) increased by 11.0%, with that of Optical instruments surging by 618.1%; meanwhile, value of domestic exports (MOP120 million) slid by 15.1%, with that of Glass & glassware falling by 88.4%. Total merchandise import rose by 3.6% year-on-year to MOP6.25 billion, of which imports of Motor cars & motorcycles and Handbags & wallets expanded by 56.1% and 48.8% respectively. Merchandise trade deficit in October amounted to MOP5.44 billion.


GGCT raises the Travel Alert for Bali to Level 2
