Christmas card of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue a Christmas card with the image of Queen of Heaven, pray for us. This card will be available for sale at the General Post Office, all post offices and postal kiosks on the 4th December, 2017.


Thematic Pack “Environmental Protection”

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will launch the thematic pack “Environmental Protection” on 1st December 2017. This pack comprises four stamp issues including "Environmental Protection (Definitive Stamp)" and "Environmental Protection (Label Stamp)" in 2002, "Macao Wetlands" in 2015 and "Chinese White Dolphin" in 2017, conveys the messages of actively promoting environmental protection, energy saving, and reducing emissions of carbon dioxide.


Communications Museum of Macao – Closing notice

Communications Museum will be closed on the following days: December 8, 20, 22, 24~26, 2017 and January 1, 2018.


Stamp poll – My Favourite Stamps of Macao, 2017

In order to encourage philatelic collection and promote appreciation for the stamps of Macao, the Communications Museum is organizing a stamp poll – “My Favourite Stamps of Macao, 2017”. All stamp lovers are invited to vote for their favourite stamps and souvenir sheets issued by CTT of the year 2017.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “Macao-Shenzhen Joint Stamp Exhibition”

To celebrate the Macao-Shenzhen Joint Stamp Exhibition, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Gallery of Lin Zexu Memorial Museum of Macao at 10H00 to 17H00 on 1st December 2017 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Macao-Shenzhen Joint Stamp Exhibition”.

Consumer Council carried out survey on price labelling of souvenir (specialty foods) industry

The latest issue of Consumer Council’s Consumer Report covers surveys on the price labelling of the specialty food industry, and on the hygienic condition of breads and cakes. Details can be found on the Council’s website (www.cosnumer.gov.mo) and the Council’s official WeChat account.


Private sector construction and real estate transactions for the 3rd quarter of 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 2,818 building units and parking spaces were purchased and sold in the third quarter of 2017 as per Stamp Duty record, and the total value of transactions was MOP15.62 billion, down by 38.6% and 48.1% respectively quarter-to-quarter. Purchase and sale of residential units totalled 2,088, a decrease of 1,474 units; the total value amounted to MOP12.41 billion, down by 51.6%. Among them, pre-sale residential units purchased and sold reduced drastically by 63.3% to 251, and the total value dropped by 67.9% to MOP 2.42 billion. Meanwhile, purchase and sale of existing residential units totalled 1,837, amounting to MOP9.99 billion, down by 36.2% and 44.8% respectively.


Prof.Yonghua Song to be the next Rector of The University of Macau

The recruitment for the next Rector of the University of Macau (UM) began in March 2017. Thereafter, a number of consultation forums were held to collect the views of alumni, staff and students, as well as members of the University Council, on the requirements, expectations, and factors for consideration of the next Rector. Through a global search and rigorous deliberations, the University Council ultimately voted unanimously to recommend to the Chief Executive that Prof. Yonghua Song be the only candidate for the next Rector of the University of Macau. Dr. Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao SAR has accepted the University Council’s recommendation to appoint Prof. Yonghua Song as the ninth Rector of UM, who will assume office on January 9, 2018.
