Exhibition “Language & the Art of Xu Bing” opened on 8 November at the Macao Museum of Art
Organized by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM, from the Portuguese acronym) of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the exhibition “Language & the Art of Xu Bing” was inaugurated on 8 November, on the second floor of MAM. The exhibition features 30 representative works, drafts and small-sized works by Xu Bing, including Book from the Sky, Book from the Ground and Square Word Calligraphy Classroom, the magnum opuses of his accomplishments and prominence in the international art arena, as well as the experimental trials and rough sketches leading to their completion. The exhibition is held on the first floor, the special exhibition room on the second and third floors of the museum until 4 March 2018.

28 sports, cultural and art teams at UM attend Oath-Taking Ceremony
The University of Macau (UM) recently held the 2017/2018 U Teams’ Oath-Taking Ceremony. UM Rector Wei Zhao said at the ceremony that UM’s sports teams and cultural and art teams have attained significant achievements in recent years, which attest to the University Motto (Humanity, Integrity, Propriety, Wisdom, and Sincerity). Approximately 400 team members, coaches, and instructors from 28 sports teams as well as cultural and art teams attended the ceremony. The event was jointly held by the Students Affairs Office and the Office of Sports Affairs.

Representatives of Macao Convention and Exhibition Industry Attended Xiamen International MICE Week and Reached Agreement on Co-operation
Co-organised by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs, TaiwanExhibition & Convention Association, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), and co-ordinated by Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Association, the “2017 Xiamen International MICE Week” was held from 6 to 9 November at the BaixiangWutong Hotel in Xiamen. IPIM organised a Macao convention and exhibition industry delegation to participate in the event in Xiamen. The activity attracted the participation of around 1,500 representatives from local and overseasconvention and exhibition industry including those from the BRICS.

Consumer Council conducted its second ‘Supermarket price survey’ in November on 8 November for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets near Iao Hon Market and the Border Gate area (Portas do Cerco ) in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.
