UM scholars receive Best Paper Award at 2017 National Conference on Antennas

Dr Liu Nengwu, Distinguished Professor Zhu Lei, and Associate Professor Choi Wai Wa from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Macau (UM), recently received one of the five Best Student Paper Awards at the 2017 National Conference on Antennas (NCANT), for their paper titled ‘Low-Profile Wideband Differential-Fed Microstrip Antenna under Operation of TM10 and TM12 Modes’.



Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “64th Macao Grand Prix”

To celebrate the 64th Macao Grand Prix, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up behind the Lisboa Stand (Restriction area for ticket entry) and our Philatelic Shop of General Post Office during 18th and 19th November 2017, providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “64th Macao Grand Prix”.


Residential property price index for the 3rd quarter of 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index in the third quarter of 2017 grew by 1.3% quarter-to-quarter to 256.3, which marked the sixth consecutive quarter of growth, and yet showed a slowdown from the 3.7% increase in the previous quarter. The indices for the Macao Peninsula (257.1) and Taipa & Coloane (252.7) rose by 1.3% and 1.1% respectively.


DSI cooperates with other government departments to provide contact information modification service

For the convenience of citizens to update address and contact information for different government departments in one-time application, the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) cooperates with other government departments to provide contact information modification service. Starting from today, Macao residents who are aged 18 or above and are holding electronic identity card can authorize DSI to provide the relevant information to other government departments that the applicants have chosen at the time they update the contact information (i.e. address and telephone number) in their resident identity record with the integrated self-service kiosks. Besides, applicants can use the integrated self-service kiosk to help their underage children or persons under their guardianship to modify contact information in the resident identity record and update such contact information for other government departments at the same time.


31st MIMF comes to a successful close Closing concerts by the Vienna Philharmonic widely acclaimed

The 31st Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, came to a successful close on 30 October with a sold-out and highly acclaimed concert performed by the Vienna Philharmonic. Ticket sales for this edition reached nearly 97%, a highly satisfactory result that relied on the public’s enthusiastic support and participation. In addition, several art critics gave their high praise to this edition’s programmes and released positive reviews, thereby giving even more meaning to the Festival.

Mandarin’s House Gift Shop calls for the participation of the Macao cultural and creative entities to sell their products on consignment

In order to create more channels for selling local cultural and creative products and promote local creativity, every year the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) selects entities from the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries (Database) to present and sell their own creative products on consignment in the Mandarin’s House Cultural Relics Information Centre and Gift Shop. Application for the 2018 consignment programme is now open until Friday, 17th November 2017. All interested cultural and creative entities are welcome to apply for inclusion in the Database to join the selection of 2018 consignment programme. Those already on the list of the Database are qualified for selection and need not re-apply, but may submit any updates to IC before the application deadline.
