UM holds workshop on general education to discuss challenges and opportunities

The University of Macau (UM) Centre for Teaching and Learning Enhancement (CTLE) recently held a full-day workshop titled ‘General Education: Challenges and Opportunities’. The workshop attracted experts and scholars from different parts of the world. During the event, the participants shared ideas on how general education at universities can help to broaden students’ horizons and increase their knowledge. Prof Lionel Ni, vice rector (academic affairs) of UM, said that general education can help students develop soft skills and adjust to the fast-changing, increasingly globalised world in the 21st century.


OM presented “Along with the musical joy – Annual gala and gathering” to shares joy with music lovers at Dom Pedro V Theatre

To celebrate its anniversary with music lovers, the Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presented the concert “Along with the musical joy - Annual gala and gathering” on the evening of 25 October, at the Dom Pedro V Theatre. A cocktail reception was held after the concert and the atmosphere was lively and cheerful.

31st MIMF presents classical and romantic maestros’ masterpieces by the Vienna Philharmonic

The 31st Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will continue to amaze the audience with magnificent performances. Extraordinary contemporary conductor Andris Nelsons leads internationally renowned the Vienna Philharmonic in the interpretation of Beethoven, Strauss and Wagner’s classics in the closing concerts, showcasing the Austro-German essence and delicate Vienna music.
