The Design Contest for Macao Tourism Mascot calls for entries starting today (23 October), as organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) together with the co-organizers, the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Cultural Industry Fund.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “World Heart Day”

To commemorate the World Heart Day, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Avenida do Comendador Ho Yin, Bestway Garden, G/F, at 15H30 to 18H30 on 29th October 2017 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “World Heart Day”.

On that day, Macao Heart Foundation will sell the commemorative envelope and a cover, priced at 15.00 patacas and 20.00 patacas at the mentioned location. The revenue will be for the charity purpose.

Various philatelic products will be available for sale during the above activity. Welcome to visit and collect Macao Stamps.

Macao Tourism Data plus offers new features for continuously enhanced service

The Macao Tourism Data plus (“MTD plus”), an online platform of statistical figures run by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), not only has optimized its current features but also added new statistical indicators for its data, with the aim to provide a more comprehensive and convenient service for users in their data search.


Visitor arrivals for September 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 2,486,383 in September 2017, up by 2.4% year-on-year but down by 13.3% month-to-month. Overnight visitors (1,382,026) increased by 5.4% year-on-year while same-day visitors (1,104,357) decreased by 1.0%. The average length of stay of visitors (1.3 days) held steady year-on-year, with that of overnight visitors and same-day visitors remaining unchanged at 2.2 days and 0.2 day respectively.


Children’s Theatre at CCM Additional show for A Little Lamp, Pea and Feather

Due to overwhelming ticket demand, the Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be presenting one additional show of A Little Lamp, Pea and Feather. Staged by Slovenia’s Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, the extra performance is scheduled for January 1, 2018.


22nd MIF and 2017 PLPEX conclude successfully To be held concurrently during the same period next year

The “22nd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (22nd MIF) and “2017 Portuguese-Speaking-Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (2017 PLPEX) concluded successfully today (21st). During the three-day events, a total of 67 agreements were signed, covering co-operation between government and association and other areas of collaboration such as agriculture, tourism, sport, education, network promotion, product manufacturing, agency and repackaging, high technology, trade of food products and brand co-operation. Pre-arranged on-site buyers conducted a total of 389 matching sessions in the Business Matching Area.


MIF and PLPEX held concurrently Exhibitors: cumulative effect

The three-day concurrent events – “22nd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (22nd MIF) and “2017 Portuguese-Speaking-Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (2017 PLPEX) – concluded successfully today (21st). Exhibitors, buyers and professional visitors expressed recognition of the events for building a communication and exchange platform for enterprises from home and abroad, further highlighting the advantages and strengths of Macao as a “Business and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between Mainland China and Portuguese-Speaking-Countries” and generating fruitful results. They also pointed out that by holding MIF and PLPEX concurrently with cumulative effect generated, providing merchants and residents with more co-operation opportunities and selections.


MIF and PLPEX with diverse events helping enterprises to seize new opportunities and enhance multilateral trade and economic exchanges

The “22nd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (22nd MIF) and “2017 Portuguese-Speaking-Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (2017 PLPEX) are now in their second day and have successfully held a number of forums, meetings and activities with features in relation to the “Belt and Road”, “Sino-Portuguese Platform” and “Big Data”, to assist enterprises grasp hold of new market moves in all directions. A total of 160 matching sessions were conducted in the Business Matching Area and 17 agreements were signed in the Signing Centre on the second day.

The Pavilions of MIF Partner Country - Angola and Partner Province - Guangdong opened today (19 Oct) to showcase their unique industries and products. The pavilions with distinctive features of industries and products attracted domestic and overseas exhibitors to initiate business negotiations, providing a wide range of information and networking platform for exhibitors and visitors from all over the world and for small and medium-sized enterprises of Macao.
