Holders of Macao SAR Passport can get access to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Lesotho by means of e-visa

The Identification Services Bureau has received confirmation from the relevant authorities that holders of the Macao SAR Passport can get access to the following countries by means of an electronic visa (e-visa):

The University of Macau (UM) today (12 October) held a talk on massive open online courses (MOOC). Dr Nie Fenghua,deputy director of the Ministry of Education Research Centre for Online Education,deputy secretary-general of Tsinghua University and director of the university’s Online Education Office,and board chairman of Beiing Muhua Information Technology, was the keynote speaker. During the talk, Nie discussed the current development and future trends of online education. At the same event, UM signed a collaboration agreement with Beijing Muhua Information Technology on the establishment of an online education platform.

Mortgage loans statistics – August 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both decreased in August 2017. With regard to the outstanding balance, RMLs witnessed a slight monthly increase whereas CRELs remained virtually unchanged.

The IMF's World Economic Outlook Upwardly Revises Macao SAR's Economic Forecasts

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) published its latest World Economic Outlook report, which forecast the global economy to grow 3.6% and 3.7% for 2017 and 2018, respectively, raised by 0.1 percentage point from its forecasts made in April and July 2017. Meanwhile, this report upwardly revised the forecasts of Macao SAR’s economic growth.
