IPIM Organises Delegation of Representatives from the Convention, Exhibition and Tourism Industries to Participate in IT&CMA in Thailand

Following the participation in the exhibitions in Melbourne, Shanghai, Frankfurt and Beijing and promoted the strengths of Macao´s convention and exhibition industry, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) organised another delegation of representatives from the convention, exhibition and tourism industries to participate in the Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) in Bangkok, Thailand, from 26 to 28 September, to promote Macao´s conventions and exhibitions. Apart from the participation in the event and the promotional activities, IPIM once again set up a Macao Pavilion at the venue to provide a platform for participating Macao’s enterprises to liaise with potential customers from Mainland China and abroad and a total of 400 business matching sessions were held. Participating Macao exhibitors considered it a fruitful trip.


31st Macao International Music Festival’s concerts Bravo Macao! showcase the vitality of new rising stars

In order to promote the development of local classical music and showcase the artistic achievements of local young music talents, the 31st Macao International Music Festival (MIMF), organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, organises two concerts entitled Bravo Macao! under the Local Musicians Concert Series on 30 September (Saturday) and 1 October (Sunday), at 8pm, at the Dom Pedro V Theatre. The concerts feature various virtuosic pieces presented by violinist Lo Cheng Io, pianist Suiong Wong, harpist Leong Cheok Wun, and cellist Ho Chun, allowing the public to appreciate the vitality of these new rising stars.


Blueprint for Macao tourism development in the next 15 years MGTO releases the Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan today

After two years of studies and formulation work of the Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan (referred to as the “Master Plan”), the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) delivered the final version of the Master Plan today (28 September), bringing forth a blueprint for the development of Macao tourism industry in the next 15 years and a relevant guideline for future actions. The Master Plan aims to steer the progress of Macao tourism industry towards a parallel direction with the development policies of the Country and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government at all levels. Following the release of the Master Plan, a cross-departmental Master Plan Steering Group will be established and led by the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture.


Identity card replacement for the elderly holding contact-based electronic identity card without expiry date

The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) will begin to replace the contact-based electronic identity card without expiry date with the contactless electronic identity card for the elderly on 9 October 2017. The replacement exercise is not compulsory. Macao residents whose contact-based electronic identity card is not stated the expiry date (which means that “------” is displayed as the expiry date on the identity card) can apply for the contactless electronic identity card on a voluntary basis. Even though the elderly persons do not replace their identity card, their contact-based electronic identity card will still be effective, only they cannot use part of the “DSI Service Station” mobile application.

Macao commemorates World Tourism Day Promotes the contribution of sustainable tourism for development

In commemoration of the World Tourism Day, 27 September, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) organized a series of activities to support this global tourism occasion. In parallel with Macao’s goal to develop into a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure, MGTO is committed to fostering the diversified and sustainable development of Macao tourism industry, its dedication echoing the World Tourism Day’s theme of this year – “Sustainable Tourism – a Tool for Development”.

In order to enrich the knowledge of Macao tertiary students on the fundamental rights and duties of Macao residents, the Nationality Law and consular protection and consular services, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR (hereinafter called Office of the Commissioner of MFA), the Identification Services Bureau (hereinafter called DSI) and the City University of Macao (hereinafter called CityU) jointly held a seminar on “Fundamental Rights and Duties of Macao Residents, Nationality Law, Consular Protection and Consular Services” at CityU on 27 September 2017, so as to promote relevant information to students.
