Consumer Council released its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ on Sé Parish

Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ in September on 18 September for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 13 supermarkets in Sé Parish.


Results of hotels and similar establishments survey 2016

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that attributable to an increase in overnight visitors and the opening of new hotels, business performance of the hotel sector improved compared to 2015. Receipts of the sector increased by 9.3% year-on-year to MOP 28.47 billion in 2016, reversing from the decline in 2015. Meanwhile, expenditure grew by 13.5% year-on-year to MOP 26.61 billion, of which Compensation of Employees (MOP 11.93 billion), Operating Expenses (MOP 11.78 billion) and Purchase of Goods & Commission Paid (MOP 2.89 billion) rose by 14.2%, 13.8% and 9.3% respectively.


This Year’s Income Distributed to Provident Fund Individual Accounts

The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) said that this year’s interest income of the provident fund individual accounts was transferred to eligible individual accounts on 7th September, with a yield of 0.119% (i.e. the annual interest rate is 1.428%). The income calculation period was from September 2016 to August 2017. Starting today, members of the public can check the balance of their individual accounts by visiting the website of the FSS at www.fss.gov.mo or via the 24-hour interactive voice response hotline at 2823 0230.


Registrations for the handicraft workshops to be held in October at the “Nam Van Lake Craft Market” are open

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the “Nam Van Lake Craft Market” is held on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 January to 31 December 2017, from 2pm to 9pm, at the Anim’Arte NAM VAN, featuring a rich variety of handicraft workshops. Online registration for the handicraft workshops in October is available through the Activity Registration System on IC’s website from today. The fee for each handicraft workshop is MOP50.


Results of survey on participation of residents in cultural activities

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released results of Survey on Participation of Residents in Cultural Activities for the second quarter of 2017. This Survey aims to collect information on participation of individuals aged 16 and above in cultural activities in the six months prior to the date of interview. Cultural activities include going to the cinema, going to a library, visiting a museum or World Heritage site, and attending a performance or art exhibition.
