Consumer Council conducted price survey on selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council collected prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets on 12 September. The mentioned data collected during 6 September to 12 September are used for comparing the average selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai, and also for comparing the average prices of the two food items from Zhuhai, Hong Kong, and Macao in the previous month. The relevant data has been uploaded to the Council’s website for consumers’ reference.


Mortgage loans statistics – July 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both increased in July 2017. With regard to the outstanding balance, RMLs witnessed an increase whereas CRELs fell slightly.


Tickets for the acrobatic show Mulan are on sale

The “Performance to Celebrate the 68th Anniversary of the National Day of the People’s Republic of China”, jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Department of Culture and Education of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R., in cooperation with the Sports Bureau, specially features the spectacular acrobatic show Mulan performed by the Chongqing Acrobatic Art Troupe Co. Ltd. this year, allowing residents to enjoy Chinese traditional performing arts and to celebrate the National Day. The show will be held on 30 September and 1 October, at 8pm, at the Macao Forum. Tickets are now available at the Macau Ticketing Network.

The opening ceremony for students entering the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programme in 2017 was held at Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) at 10am on 9th September. The programme is jointly offered by the Chinese Academy of Governance and MPI with the support of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau of the Macao SAR. Guests attending the ceremony included Professor Zhu Guoren, Director of the Department of Graduate Education of the Chinese Academy of Governance; Mr. Liu Dongsong, Deputy Director of the Training Centre of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Professor Lei Heong Iok, President of MPI and Ms. Lo Kin I, Deputy Director of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau. In their officiating speeches, Professor Zhu, President Lei and Ms. Lo encouraged students to work very hard in their studies and research. They expressed their hopes for students to excel as public administration professionals and contribute their expertise to the Macao SAR. The Master of Public Administration, which was first offered in 2009, aims to cultivate high-calibre, application-oriented public administration professionals who can serve in the Macao SAR government by applying the knowledge and practical experience gained in their studies. This programme also equips students with an understanding of societal developments, allowing them to carry out their administrative duties in compliance with the law. Delivered on a part-time basis to cater for students who are in full-time employment, the Chinese Academy of Governance designs the overall programme scheme, assigns teaching materials and teachers, and also conducts course assessments and evaluations. On the other hand, Macao Polytechnic Institute is responsible for providing classrooms and course management. It also provides assistance related to teaching and evaluation. The Chinese Academy of Governance will award the Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree to students who have completed all programme requirements and passed an oral defense. Eight batches of 444 students have begun their studies in the MPA programme, of which 306 have passed their oral defense and obtained a Master’s degree. This year, 40 students have been accepted to this programme.

“FLOW: Glass Art Exhibition by Sunny Wang” is held until 19 November

The art exhibition “FLOW: Glass Art Exhibition by Sunny Wang”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is open to the public from today until 19 November at the Temporary Exhibitions Gallery of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau. The exhibition is open to the general public.


UFI´s Annual Report appraises Macao as the most outstanding exhibition market in Asia-Pacific over the past five years

The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) is one of the most representative associations of the exhibition industry. UFI has recently published its 13th edition of the annual report on the Trade Fair Industry in Asia, analysing the development of the trade fair market in Asia in 2016. During the year, a total of 26 B2B trade fairs held in Macao were included in the UFI statistics. Revenues from exhibitions were estimated at around USD53.55 million, with 215,250m2 of net spaces sold, showing a rise of 2.9% as compared to 2015.
