CE urges restoration of power supply as soon as possible

The Chief Executive asked the power utility company this evening to restore as soon as possible power supply to circa 20,000 households affected by a blackout caused by Typhoon Mangkhut, once conditions are safe for emergency repairs.


UM to be closed tomorrow due to Typhoon Mangkhut

In accordance with the announcement of the Tertiary Education Services Office, all classes at the University of Macau (UM) will be cancelled tomorrow (17 September) to ensure the safety of the students during Typhoon Mangkhut. As approved by the chief executive of the Macao SAR, UM faculty and staff are exempt from work tomorrow for safety considerations.



Cultural facilities under Cultural Affairs Bureau will be closed for inspection

Due to the influence of typhoon “Mangkhut”, the cultural facilities of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, including heritage sites, public libraries, museums and exhibition halls, among others, will be closed for inspection and clearing up on 17 and 18 September, in order to ensure the public’s safety. Reopening dates of the abovementioned venues and cultural facilities will be announced later after evaluation.
