Residential property price index for February – April 2018
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for February - April 2018 decreased by 0.7% over the previous period (January - March 2018) to 251.5, mainly caused by a drop of 7.0% in the index for pre-sale residential units (251.1); meanwhile, the index for existing residential units (275.9) grew by 3.1%.

The grand opening of the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) was staged at the Venetian Macao today (7 June). The first edition of the “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held in July, featuring a series of highlighted activities. Tickets for two thematic activities “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” and “China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Gala Performance” will be available on Saturday, 9 June, and Sunday, 10June, respectively.

UM to hold 3 distinguished lectures on microelectronics next Tuesday
The 2018 Distinguished Lecture Series on Microelectronics, organised by the University of Macau (UM) State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, will be held on Tuesday 12 June. Three world-renowned experts on microelectronics will give keynote speeches in which they will share with the audience state-of-the-art technologies and design techniques related to microelectronic circuits. All are welcome.

Release of Annual Report on Development of the Belt and Road Construction The development momentum of Southeast Asia remains strong. Brazil demonstrates great development potential among the Portuguese-speaking countries
The release ceremony of the Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index 2018 and the Annual Report on Development of the Belt and Road Construction (2018) was held at the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum on 7 June. It is shown in the report that the increasingly broad international influence of the Belt and Road Initiative has tightened the connectivity of infrastructure facilities among the related countries and enhanced their collaboration. The infrastructure development indexes of the Belt and Road countries have reached new heights this year. Indonesia, Singapore, Pakistan, Russia, and Vietnam claimed the top five positions in the ranking of infrastructure development index among other the Belt and Road countries, while Brazil, Portugal, and Angola among Portuguese-speaking countries were in the front rank on several rankings, among which Brazil has shown the strongest development potential.

Consumer Council conducted its third ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 7 June for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 13 supermarkets in Toi San, Ilha Verde and Fai Chi Kei areas in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.
