17th Macao City Fringe Festival Call for proposals of programmes and performance venues closes this month

The 17th Macao City Fringe Festival, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), will be held in January next year The call for proposals of programmes and performance venues is now open until 21 July 2017. All local associations registered at the Identification Services Bureau and artistic practitioners are invited to submit proposals of programmes and the general public is welcome to participate the festival as a venue provider.


Commemorative Postmark Cancellation Service of “Open Day of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR”

To celebrate the Open Day of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at our Philatelic Shop located at General Post Office, Senado Square on 8th and 9th July 2017 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Open Day of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR”.


2017 Macao Franchise Expo to fully fulfil its role as co-operation platform for franchise business

The 2017 Macao Franchise Expo (2017MFE) will be held at Exhibition Hall A of the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel from 28 July to 30 July. As a truly international event promoting franchise and retail chain business collaboration, MFE each year attracts an array of global brands and franchise industry players. The event is increasingly effective, fully fulfilling its role as an international co-operation platform in the franchise and retail chain field.


UM’s two state key labs pass assessments with flying colours

The two state key laboratories at the University of Macau (UM), namely the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (AMS-VLSI Lab) and the State Key Laboratory of Quality Research in Chinese Medicine (QRCM Lab), today (6 July) passed their first assessments conducted by experts in the fields of Chinese medical sciences and integrated circuits. The experts recognised UM’s international academic influence in the areas of Chinese medical sciences and integrated circuits and praised UM for its training of researchers. Both labs will continue to receive support from the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) of the Macao SAR.

The Opening Ceremony of the 24th Egmont Group Plenary Meeting

The opening ceremony of the 24th Egmont Group Plenary Meeting was held on 6th July 2017 (Thursday) at Conrad Macao Hotel, Cotai Strip, with the Macao Financial Intelligence Office (GIF) being the organizer of this meeting. The Egmont Group is a united body of Financial Intelligence Units around the world, which aims to facilitate the exchange of intelligence and cooperation among its members in the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing. The Egmont Group has more than 150 members FIUs. This is the first time the Egmont Group Plenary Meeting is held in Macao.


Polish theatre reinvents Shakespeare King Lear’s sonic essence

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents Songs of Lear an alternative adaptation of King Lear, to be staged by Polish company Song of the Goat on September 10, at the Grand Auditorium.


IC announces candidates to the second review for the 2016 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Animation Short Films

The initial review of the “2016 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Animation Short Films”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) was completed and a total of 12 entrants were selected to the second review. The final beneficiaries will be granted each a subsidy of up to MOP240,000 for the production, promotion and marketing of the animation short films.


Consumer Council conducted specific product price survey on refrigerated, and frozen pork

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council conducted its specific price surveys on refrigerated and frozen pork on 5 July. Result of the mentioned survey has been uploaded to the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo).


“Artwork Exhibition of Police Officers 2017” of the Public Security Police Force

The “Artwork Exhibition of Police Officers 2017”, which is jointly organized by the Public Security Police Force and the Albergue SCM, will be held from 12 July 2017 to 30 July 2017 at the Albergue SCM (located at Calçada da Igreja de S. Lázaro No.8 in Macao).
