“Where the World Heritage Shines – Photography Exhibition of the Historic Centre of Macao” unveiled in Guimarães, Portugal

Jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the City Hall of Guimarães and the Vila Flor Cultural Centre of Guimarães, the opening ceremony of “Where the World Heritage Shines – Photography Exhibition of the Historic Centre of Macao” and a talk on the Historic Centre of Macao and Guimarães were held successfully at the Vila Flor Palace in Guimarães, Portugal, on 23 June 2017.


MPI Students Visit the General Consulate of Portugal in Macao and Hong Kong

The Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) is organising a series of summer activities for the MPI international students. Following the spectacular show proudly presented by the performers from the Chinese National Peking Opera Theatre, in which the MPI international students could glimpse the very essence of the traditional Chinese culture, the Student Affairs Office again arranged a visit on 21 June 2017 to the General Consulate of Portugal in Macao and Hong Kong for around 30 MPI students from such lusophone countries as Portugal, Brazil and Cape Verde.


Macao Museum of Art holds exhibition “Representing Women through MAM Collection – 19th and 20th Centuries”

The Macao Museum of Art(MAM) under the Cultural Affairs Bureau holds the exhibition “Representing Women through MAM Collection – 19th and 20th Century” on Friday, 30 June, on the 3rd floor of the Museum.


CE to attend Hong Kong SAR 20th anniversary celebrations

The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, is to visit Hong Kong from tomorrow to Saturday (1 July), to attend the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).


2018 Year of the Dog commemorative coins

The Monetary Authority of Macao (AMCM) will be launching the Year of the Dog commemorative coins in 2018. To facilitate the public and to ensure the orderly conduct of the subscription process, AMCM will accept online registration for subscription of coins from eligible subscribers, who are holders of either permanent or non-permanent valid Macao resident identity card and are aged 18 or above, via the webpage of the Monetary Authority of Macao (www.amcm.gov.mo) from 9:00am on 3 July until 6:00pm on 14 July 2017. Simultaneously, a service counter will be set up at the lobby of AMCM within the mentioned time period to provide online registration service for those elderly citizens who require assistance.


Anim’Arte NAM VAN will be decorated with new graffiti in July Craft market and handicraft workshops welcome public participation on weekends

Jointly managed by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the Sports Bureau, and the Institute for Tourism Studies, under the governance of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Anim’Arte NAM VAN’s “Graffiti Display Area” will be redecorated by local art group GANTZ 5 starting from 1 July (Saturday) under a new theme, “Midsummer”.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for May 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours totalled 681,000 in May 2017, up by 1.2% month-to-month and 20.7% year-on-year. Package tour visitors from Mainland China (524,000), the Republic of Korea (42,000) and Taiwan (35,000) rose by 18.9%, 56.4% and 14.6% respectively year-on-year. In the first five months of 2017, visitors on package tours totalled 3,085,000, up by 8.0% year-on-year.


Response to the Trafficking in Persons Report by the U.S. Department of State
