Grand Prix Museum, Wine Museum and CAT to close from July 1

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) will close the Grand Prix Museum, the Wine Museum and the Tourism Activities Centre (Centro de Actividades Turísticas - CAT), starting from July 1 (next Saturday), in order to conduct preparation works ahead of the remodeling of the building to transform it into the new Macau Grand Prix themed museum.


The People’s Government of Hubei Province delegation visits MPI to encourage students to endeavour in their studies and to foster collaboration between both parties

Mr. Nie Changbin, Vice Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Hubei Province, leading a group of delegates from the Province, visited the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) on 22 June 2017. The delegation was warmly received by Professor Im Sio Kei, Acting President of MPI and the Institute’s teaching staff and students. Both parties enthusiastically exchanged their views on fostering the collaboration between universities in Hubei and MPI regarding the academic exchange of their teachers and students. The delegation had friendly conversations with Hubei students who have come to study at MPI, learning about their campus life and encouraging them to study hard to contribute to various aspects of cooperation between Hubei and Portuguese-speaking countries.


MGTO Annual Marketing Meeting 2017 discusses marketing plans for 2018

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) holds its Annual Marketing Meeting 2017 in Macao from 19th to 23rd June. 42 participants including MGTO’s market representatives and PR consultant as well as personnel of the Macao Special Administrative Region Delegations from around the world attends the meeting to report on the progress of current projects and discuss marketing plans.


Visitor arrivals for May 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitor arrivals totalled 2,570,428 in May 2017, up by 3.7% year-on-year and down by 6.3% month-to-month. Overnight visitors (1,376,336) went up by 14.2% year-on-year while same-day visitors (1,194,092) decreased by 6.1%. The average length of stay of visitors rose by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1.3 days; overnight visitors and same-day visitors stayed an average of 2.2 days and 0.2 day respectively, the same as in May last year.
