Electoral Affairs Commission receives 31 applications to form nomination committees

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election received by deadline day a total of 31 applications – 25 relating to the direct election process and six to the indirect election process – for legal status from campaign teams wishing to contest the upcoming election.


Consumer price index (CPI) for May 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI in May 2017 increased by 0.95% year-on-year to 109.20, up by 0.15 percentage points from the 0.80% growth in April 2017. The increment was attributable to higher charges for eating out and outpatient services, as well as rising tuition fees.


CCAC clarifies legal stipulation about the obligation of neutrality of gaming companies

The CCAC has noticed some citizens’ doubts about the legal stipulations of the obligation of neutrality and impartiality of the persons in charge and employees of gaming companies in the Legislative Assembly Elections. In order to give the citizens a clear understanding of the relevant stipulations and law-enforcement standards provided by the Electoral Law of the Legislative Assembly of Macao, the CCAC considers that it is necessary to clear up the doubts.

Meeting of the General Council of Archives

The General Council of Archives of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) held its first meeting in 2017 in the Auditorium of the Cultural Affairs Bureau at Tap Siac Square on 9 June, to discuss the creation of a unit and allocation of human resources for records management in public departments. Mr Leung Hio Ming, President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, was the acting chairperson of the meeting.


Consumer Council conducts price survey on selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai and Macao

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council on 20 June collects prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets for consumers’ reference. The mentioned data collected during 14 June to 20 June are used for comparing the average selling price of the same products from Zhuhai. The relevant data has been uploaded to the Council’s website for consumers’ reference.


Registrations for the handicraft workshops (July) at the “Nam Van Lake Craft Market” are open

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the “Nam Van Lake Craft Market” is held on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 January to 31 December 2017, from 2pm to 9pm, at the Anim’Arte NAM VAN, featuring a rich variety of handicraft workshops. Online registration for handicraft workshops in July is available at the Activity Registration System on IC’s website from today. The fee for each handicraft workshop is MOP50.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “Comemoração do Primeiro Aniversário dos Pandas-Gigantes Gémeos de Macau”

To celebrate the “Comemoração do Primeiro Aniversário dos Pandas-Gigantes Gémeos de Macau”, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Senado Square and Seac Pai Van Park on 25th June 2017 providing the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Comemoração do Primeiro Aniversário dos Pandas-Gigantes Gémeos de Macau”.

Organizing Committee of International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao conducts promotion in Shanghai

Following the Kick-Off Ceremony of the 2nd International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao held last week, the Organizing Committee of the International Film Festival & Awards‧Macao immediately flew to Shanghai to continue its promotional work.
