Consumer Council released 4th supermarket price survey report of the current month
The Consumer Council conducted its ‘Supermarket price survey’ of the first-half of September on 12 September for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 7 supermarkets in Taipa and Coloane Parish. Consumers may now check the report data on the Council’s website (www.consumer.gov.mo), the “Supermarket Price Information Platform” app, or the Council’s WeChat account.

Airport full scale emergency exercise was deemed smooth
Macau International Airport conducted the full scale emergency exercise early this morning (12 September 2019) to simulate an aircraft accident with the aircraft veering off the runway and crashing into the water. The airport emergency plan was immediately activated to resolve the crisis. The exercise was deemed smooth and achieved its goal.

Alexis Tam leads delegation to attend UNWTO General Assembly
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) convened the 23rd Session of its General Assembly in St. Petersburg, Russia this morning (11 September). Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Alexis Tam, led a delegation of Macao, China to attend the General Assembly and join other delegates in a forward-looking dialogue on how the tourism sector can foster the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through education and employment. The Macao Special Administrative Region Government is striving to push forward its engagement and collaboration with major international tourism organizations and consolidate Macao’s status as a tourist city in the regional and international tourism community.

Top GBA companies offer 2,000 jobs at career fair at UM
The first Career and Internship Fair for University Students in Macao was held today (11 September) at the University of Macau (UM). During the event, over 100 well-known companies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) provided more than 2,000 job vacancies for university students in Macao. Billy So, vice rector (student affairs) of UM, says that UM dedicates itself to nurturing skilled workers for Macao, GBA, and China, adding that the fair provided a good platform for GBA companies to recruit Macao students who match their needs.
