DSI launches prize-winning online quizzes on fundamental rights and duties of residents, consular protection and consular services

In order to deepen the knowledge of Macao citizens on fundamental rights and duties of residents, consular protection and consular services, the Identification Services Bureau launches the prize-winning online quizzes on “fundamental rights and duties of residents, consular protection and consular services”, from now until 30 June 2017. Macao residents aged 8 or above can take the quizzes by visiting the special website of “fundamental rights and duties of residents, consular protection and consular services” (www.dsi.gov.mo/frdcp). Participants who have answered all questions correctly will enter the lucky draw by providing their personal information. A total of 100 winners will be drawn to receive a fabulous gift. Citizens are very welcomed to participate in the quizzes.


Opening of the ‘Summit on the Chinese Central SOEs’ Support of Macao in the Building of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Co-operation Platform’

The “Summit on the Chinese Central SOEs’ Support of Macao in the Building of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Co-operation Platform” took place today (31 May) in Macao. The Summit was hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) and was organised by the Secretariat for Economy and Finance of the MSAR, with the support of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute was co-organiser of the event.


SOEs: Macao Plays a Key Role in Expanding their Access to Markets in Portuguese-speaking Countries

The “Summit on Mainland China’s State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Support for Macao in the Building of Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Co-operation Platform” attracted the participation of many central SOEs, including central financial enterprises, as well as invited private enterprises from Mainland China, plus local enterprises, chambers of commerce, representative associations and enterprises of Portuguese-speaking Countries. Several participating companies from Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking Countries said they saw the meeting as being of great significance, and highlighted Macao’s role as an important business co-operation and services platform between Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Macao can provide assistance to solve the challenges posed by linguistic, legal and cultural barriers – as well as those posed by other issues – in the process of co-operation between SOEs and Portuguese-speaking Countries’ enterprises.

Inauguration of Exhibition “Debris – Works by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils”

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, co-organized by the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation and supported by the Orient Foundation, the Consulate General of Portugal in Macao and Hong Kong and Casa de Portugal em Macau, the exhibition “Debris - Works by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils” was inaugurated on Wednesday, 31 May, at 6:30pm, at the Navy Yard No.1 - Contemporary Art Center. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao S.A.R., Wang Dong; the Secretary of State of Industry of Portugal, João Vasconcelos; the Consul-General of Portugal in Macao and Hong Kong, Vitor Sereno; the President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Leung Hio Ming; the Director of Development of the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation, Pauline Foessel; the Head of Delegation of the Orient Foundation in Macao, Ana Paula Cleto Godinho; the President of the Board of Directors of Casa de Portugal in Macao, Maria Amélia António; and the artist Alexandre Farto aka Vhils. This exhibition, integrated in the 28th Macao Arts Festival, features over 20 works including four new murals inspired by Macao in the public space. The exhibition is open to the general public.


Consumer Council conducts price survey on selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai and Macao

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council on 31 May collects prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets for consumers’ reference. The mentioned data collected during 24 May to 30 May are used for comparing the average selling price of the same products from Zhuhai. The relevant data has been uploaded to the Council’s website for consumers’ reference.


Macao Orchestra presents concert “Weekend Music Party – Memory of Youth” in June

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will present the concert “Weekend Music Party – Memory of Youth” on Saturday, 24 June, at 4pm, at the Dom Pedro V Theatre. Tickets are now available at the Macau Ticketing Network.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for April of 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours totalled 677,000 in April 2017, up by 14.5% year-on-year and 4.3% month-to-month. Package tour visitors from Mainland China (536,000), the Republic of Korea (41,000) and Taiwan (32,000) rose by 13.8%, 41.3% and 13.2% respectively year-on-year. In the first four months of 2017, visitors on package tours totalled 2,409,000, up by 5.1% year-on-year.

Over a hundred domestic and overseas leaders from governments, industries and academia will gather at the 8th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum to share their visions

“The 8th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum” (hereinafter “The 8th IIICF”) will be held tomorrow (1st June) in Macao Venetian - Resort - Hotel. Six important guests including the leaders from the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), international financial institutions, and the senior management of the world’s top equipment manufacturing enterprises have been invited to deliver keynote speeches. In this 2-day forum, a total number of 14 thematic forums or concurrently run forums will be held, and over a hundred domestic and overseas leaders from governments, industries and academia will be invited to share their visions.
