Consumer Council released its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ in Sé Parish

Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ inMay on 24 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 13 supermarkets in Sé Parish.


Consuls accredited to Hong Kong and Macao attend 28th Macao Arts Festival and experience Macao’s artistic atmosphere

On the occasion of the 28thMacao Arts Festival (MAF), the Macao S.A.R. Government invited consuls of various countries accredited to Hong Kong and Macao to participate in a tour organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) on 23 May. The delegation visited the exhibition “The Art of Zhang Daqian” at the Macao Museum of Art, as well as the Macau Design Centre (MDC), and attended the concert Resonance through Space-Time by the Macao Orchestra. This cultural visit featured the integration of Chinese and Western arts in Macao and allowed the consuls to understand the development of Macao’s cultural and creative industries.

ARTmusing Summer at CCM An inspirational thrill for the whole family!

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is launching a new edition of “ARTmusing Summer”, bringing over 350 events that will run from late June to the end of August. Specially designed to inspire babies, kids and grown-ups, this series enchants over a 15,000 attendance amongst shows, screenings and workshops.

Results of retail sales survey for 1st quarter of 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that value of retail sales for the first quarter of 2017 increased by 12.0% year-on-year to MOP16.59 billion, and up by 4.3% as compared with the revised figure (MOP15.91 billion) in the fourth quarter of 2016. Watches, Clocks & Jewellery accounted for 23.2% of the total retail sales, followed by Goods in Department Stores (15.0%), Adults' Clothing (12.8%), Leather Goods (11.8%) and Goods in Supermarkets (7.1%).


Health statistics 2016

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that there were 5 hospitals in Macao in 2016, providing a total of 1,591 in-patient beds, up by 97 year-on-year. Number of in-patients increased by 6.1% year-on-year to 58,000. The average hospital stay was 7.1 days, down by 0.3 day year-on-year. The occupancy rate of in-patient beds dropped by 4.6 percentage points to 72.0% due to an increase of in-patient beds and a decrease in the average hospital stay, marking the first year-on-year decline after three consecutive years of growth since 2013.


The 8th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum More than 1,400 leaders from politics, business and academia gather in Macao

More 1,400 government officials and leaders in the business and academic fields from more than 60 countries and regions have been invited to the “8th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum” (hereinafter “8th IIICF”). The event will incorporate Macao’s dedication to advancing the development of featured financial industries and financial leasing, and contribute to the industrial capacity of the nation and help enterprises in Mainland China and those from Macao to “Go out” and take part in the national policy of “The Belt and Road”.


Exhibition “The Art of Zhang Daqian” at Macao Museum of Art was inaugurated

Jointly organised by the Macao Museum of Art (MAM, from the Portuguese acronym) of the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Sichuan Museum, the exhibition “The Art of Zhang Daqian” features 100 masterpieces from the artist’s early and prime years collected by the Sichuan Museum, including his replicas of Dunhuang’s murals, landscape paintings, portraits, line drawings, letters and seals made and used by the artist before and after his stay in Dunhuang. Through these valuable works, the audience can deepen their knowledge on the artistic career and creativity of Zhang Daqian. This exhibition, integrated in the 28th Macao Arts Festival, was inaugurated on Tuesday, 23 May, at 6:30pm, on the 4th floor of the MAM. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Assistant of the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R., Shao Bin; the Vice President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Kent Ieong Chi Kin; the Representative and Director of the Museum Division of the Culture Heritage Administration of Sichuan Province, Lily Li Bei; the Acting Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Tse Heng Sai; the Director of Macao Daily News, Lok Po; the President of the Chinese Cultural Exchange Association, Lei Pui Lam; the Executive Vice President of the Yu Un Painting & Chinese Calligraphy Association, Sio Chun Iun; the President of the Macau Artist Society, Lai Ieng; and the Director of the Macao Museum of Art of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R. Government, Chan Kai Chon.

Consumer Council conducted its latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ in May on 23 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets at Lam Mau, Patane and San Kio areas in Santo António Parish.
