Macao Archives hosts “Macao Illustrated – Exhibition of City Plans and Architectural Drawings from the Macao Archives’ Collection” next month

To celebrate “China Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” and the “International Archives Day”, the Macao Archives (AM) under the auspices of Cultural Affairs Bureau will organize the exhibition “Macao Illustrated - Exhibition of City Plans and Architectural Drawings from the Macao Archives’ Collection” from 10 June to 3 December 2017. The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday, 9 June, at 6pm, at the Macao Archives.


International banking statistics – March 2017

According to the statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, the proportion of international business in the local banking sector rebounded in the first quarter of 2017. At end-March 2017, the share of international assets in total banking assets rose to 84.7% from 84.1% at end-December 2016, while the share of international liabilities in total banking liabilities grew to 79.2% from 78.7%.


Private sector construction and real estate transaction for the 1st quarter 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 3,337 building units and parking spaces were purchased and sold as per Stamp Duty record in the first quarter of 2017, and the total value of transactions was MOP17.93 billion, down by 35.0% and 38.9% respectively quarter-to-quarter. Purchase and sale of residential units totalled 2,313, a decrease of 1,262 units; the total value amounted to MOP13.61 billion, down by 41.8%. Among them, pre-sale residential units purchased and sold dropped significantly by 69.3% to 306, and the total value fell by 68.5% to MOP 3.08 billion. Meanwhile, purchase and sale of existing residential units totalled 2,007, amounting to MOP10.54 billion, down by 22.1% and 22.5% respectively.


Commission: Each voter entitled to endorse only one nomination committee

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election today issued a reminder that each voter is entitled to endorse the nomination committee of only one election team. Voters are advised to be prudent in submitting their respective nominations.


Macao jumps to 72nd in ICCA worldwide ranking

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), has recently released its latest Annual Statistics and Rankings. In its 2016 report, Macao has obtained promotions in several facets and the results are encouraging. Namely, Macao jumped to 72nd in worldwide ranking, while it was up to 17th in Asia-Pacific. Furthermore, 37 international meetings held in Macao were recognised by ICCA, the highest number of international meetings in the last decade.

Consumer Council conducted its third ‘Supermarket price survey’ in May on 17 May for the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included 14 supermarkets in Toi San, Ilha Verde and Fai Chi Kei areas in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.


MPI organises Music programme’s graduation concert to exhibit the blossoming of talents

MPI’s Bachelor of Arts in Music programme hosted a graduation concert featuring its class of 2017 students on the evening of 12 May. This concert showcases the talents and achievements of the programme’s graduating students and demonstrates the Institute’s outstanding quality of music teaching. Over 40 students and their teachers performed that evening, staging a superb concert for over 200 enthusiastic music lovers who responded with repeated rounds of applause.
