MPI’s Associate Professor Dai Baisheng attends the Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Forum on Music Education in Schools

The Cross-Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Forum on Music Education in Schools opened on 8 May at the South China Normal University (SCNU). Over a hundred scholars and teachers specialising in music education gathered in Guangzhou to participate in various activities including exchanges, workshops and roundtable discussions to explore the linkage between tertiary music education in training music teachers and its relevance to basic education.


Mortgage loans statistics – March 2017

According to statistics released today by the Monetary Authority of Macao, new approvals of residential mortgage loans (RMLs) and commercial real estate loans (CRELs) both increased in March 2017. With regard to the outstanding balance, RMLs witnessed a slight increase whereas CRELs dropped.

The 13th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) is held from 11 to 15 May at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Cultural Affairs Bureau set up the Macao Creative Pavilion, promoting the participation of Macao’s cultural and creative entities. The Macao Creative Pavilion, themed on Portuguese-style design products, showcases and commercialises local cultural and creative products in the fair.


“Exhibition of Members’ Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao” opens next Friday

Co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao, the “Exhibition of Members’ Artworks of Yu Un Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association of Macao” will be inaugurated on Friday, 19 May, at 6:30pm, at the Chun Chou Tong Pavilion of Lou Lim Ioc Garden. The exhibition is open to the general public.


IC opens applications for the 2017 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums

Applications for 2017 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Song Albums of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) open on 12 May 2017. Each album will be granted a subsidy of up to MOP220,000. The subsidy will be given to a maximum of eight beneficiaries and the application period is open until 11 July2017, at 5:45pm.


Macao Polytechnic Institute Motivates Students for Exams!

For the purpose of cheering up students for exams and motivating students to prepare for exams with a positive attitude, the Student Affairs Office and Student Union of Macao Polytechnic Institute have distributed free drinks to students, and also set up a “Message Board”, where students can leave their wishes and blessings. Moreover, the Student Affairs Office has invited a senior student who is a balloon artist to twist colourful balloons for students.


NPC Standing Committee Chairman Zhang Dejiang praises UM as ‘very good’ during his visit

Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, today (10 May) visited the University of Macau (UM). Zhang praised UM as ‘very good’ for its campus and development. He said that UM’s new campus, which covers approximately one square kilometre, is testament to the support of the central government and the SAR government to higher education development in Macao.
