Airport conducts fuel farm exercise to simulate the activation of the contingency plan to resolve crisis

Macau International Airport carried out its annual fuel farm exercise today (06 April 2016) to simulate a fire in the farm for testing and assessing the capacity of the government entities and the operators in handling the fuel farm emergency when a case arises. All entities involved cooperated closely with each other in resolving the crisis. The exercise was deemed smooth.


2016 Annual Report of the CCAC of Macao published in Official Gazette

According to the Organic Law of the Commission Against Corruption of the Macao Special Administrative Region,the Commissioner Against Corruption, Cheong Weng Chon, submitted 2016 Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macao to the Chief Executive, Choi Sai On, in March 2017. The report was published in the Official Gazette of the Macao SAR on 5th April.


Macao Orchestra offers additional performance of the “Children’s Day Concert – The Adventure of DoReMi”

The “Children’s Day Concert – The Adventure of DoReMi”, part of the Special Productions Series, presented by the Macao Orchestra under the Cultural Affairs Bureau, has been enthusiastically sought-after by the public. Tickets for the concert quickly sold out after going on sale. Considering the high public demand, the Macao Orchestra is offering an additional concert, aimed at children aged 3 or above, on 3 June, at 5pm. Tickets for this additional concert are available at the Macau Ticketing Network.


Electoral Affairs Commission finalises design for ballots and chops

The Electoral Affairs Commission for the Legislative Assembly Election has finalised the designs for, respectively, the ballots and chops to be used in the election day, introducing some enhancements in order to minimise potential mistakes during voting.


Clarification of rumor regarding the granting of visa free privilege to holders of Macau SAR Passport and holders of Macao SAR Travel Permit by the United States

In regard to a rumor on the Internet that holders of the Macao Special Administrative Region Passport and holders of the Macao Special Administrative Region Travel Permit are granted visa-free access to the United States, the Identification Services Bureau has been confirmed by the Consulate General of the United States in Hong Kong that the relevant news is not genuine. The immigration policy of the United States to the Macao Special Administrative Region remains unchanged. Currently, holders of the Macao Special Administrative Region Passport and holders of the Macao Special Administrative Region Travel Permit are still required to apply for relevant visas to enter the United States.


Consumer Council conducts price survey on selling prices of fresh pork and vegetables from Zhuhai and Macao

For the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June, Consumer Council on 5 April collects prices of fresh pork from wet markets and supermarkets for consumers’ reference. The mentioned data collected during 29 March to 4 April are used for comparing the average selling price of the same products from Zhuhai. The relevant data has been uploaded to the Council’s website for consumers’ reference.


Tse Chi Wai to give Doctor honoris causa Lecture on Chinese medical sciences

Tse Chi Wai, an honorary doctor of the University of Macau (UM) and a renowned educator, on Wednesday 12 April will give a Doctor honoris causaLecture, titled ‘A Stroke of Serendipity: How I Came to Join the Cause for the Advancement of Chinese Medicine’, at UM. Dr Tse will talk about how he became involved in research in Chinese medical sciences and the training of professionals in the field. He will also share his experiences in writing teaching materials for the subject and his views on the development of Chinese medical sciences in Macao. All are welcome.

The deadline for applications for the “2016 Subsidy Programme for the Production of Original Animation Short Films”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), is 12 April, at 5pm. All interested parties are welcome to take this chance to apply for the Programme.

From information gathered through the Macao travel industry, currently there is no indication that Macao tour groups have been affected. Until the present moment, GGCT has not received any request for information or assistance.
