GGCT raises the Travel Alert for Bali to Level 2

Considering the recent situation in Bali, the Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) raised the Travel Alert to that destination to Level 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also issued a security alert. Following is the translated version of the full text:





Employment survey for August-October 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the general unemployment rate for August-October 2017 was 1.9%, and the unemployment rate of local residents was 2.6%; meanwhile, the underemployment rate was 0.5%. All the three indicators dropped by 0.1 percentage point from the previous period (July-September 2017).

IFT Tourism Research Centre (ITRC) held an industry briefing on 24 Nov 2017 and released the latest findings on one of the Center’ major research projects - the Macao Human Resource Monitor Survey (MHRM).




UM student wins championship at Japanese Speech Contest in Hong Kong

Leong Wong Ian, a third-year student of Japanese studies from the University of Macau (UM), recently won the championship at the 42nd Japanese Speech Contest held in Hong Kong.


IPM hosted Book Launch Ceremony of "Community Culture and Creativity – 10 Case Studies for the Lai Chi Vun Village, Coloane"

Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) held a Book Launch Ceremony of "Community Culture and Creativity - 10 Case Studies for the Lai Chi Vun Village, Coloane" on 24 November, 2017. The book recorded the academic and education perspectives on the old shipyards at Lai Chi Wan Village over the last year. After the book launch ceremony, Mr. Sales Marques, President of the European Studies Institute and member of the Macao Cultural Industries Foundation gave a lecture on "Mong-Há: Place Identity and Creative Potential" to interpret the relationship and significance of history, culture, creativity and community development.
