DSEC launches Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area website

The Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) announced the launch of a website for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to reflect the cultural and economic development of the Greater Bay Area cities. The website brings together principal statistical indicators of the Greater Bay Area cities and data about cultural and economic exchanges between Macao and the other Greater Bay Area cities for public reference.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for February 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours totalled 597,000 in February 2018, up by 8.8% year-on-year and yet down by 25.6% month-to-month. Package tour visitors from Mainland China (450,000) and Taiwan (56,000) rose by 11.6% and 55.3% respectively year-on-year, while those from the Republic of Korea (46,000) dropped by 6.1%. In the first two months of 2018, visitors on package tours totalled 1,399,000, a surge of 29.3% year-on-year.





“Catalogue Exhibition in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Macao Museum” held at the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre

In order to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, organises the “Catalogue Exhibition in Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Macao Museum”, currently open at the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre until 30th August. Admission is free.


True Dialogue between the Youth and FSS Chief

To strengthen the youth’s understanding about the SAR Government’s social security policy and listen to their views about the social security system, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) and the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau jointly hosted a dialogue last night (27th March) on the theme “Plan Early for a Carefree Retirement" between the FSS Chief and the youth. Iong Kong Io, President of the Administrative Committee of the FSS, answered online questions and exchanged views with about 80 young people at the scene, and the atmosphere was welcoming.


Macao Orchestra to present ‘20th Century Music Innovation’ concert at Dom Pedro V Theatre in April

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is going to stage the concert ‘20th Century Music Innovation’ at Dom Pedro V Theatre on 7 April at 8pm, presenting chamber music works by a number of 20th century composers. Tickets are now available at the Macau Ticketing Network.

The award winning chef Julien Royer shared his culinary experiences and insights with students who are studying the Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts Management Programme at Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) on 26 March. The talk was arranged by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).


“Macao Tourism News plus” widens user coverage Welcomes tourism industry personnel to register as account users

An online news database run by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the “Macao Tourism News plus” now welcomes tourism industry personnel in the related fields of communication and news dissemination to register as account users starting from today (28 March). Upholding the principle of information transparency and resource sharing, MGTO encourages industry partners to obtain free press materials from the platform, with the aim to bolster the productivity of their work in communication and news dissemination and enhance the quality and efficiency of dissemination of local tourism news in concerted effort.
