Exhibitors and Participants Share “Green” Business Opportunities via MIECF

The three-day Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition 2018 (2018MIECF) was concluded today (14 April) with the event proving once again to be a huge success with all that attended. Many exhibitors and participants commented on the benefits of attending the event. MIECF serves as a “green” platform, helping companies to successfully expand in terms of “green” business, to achieve productive results in terms of co-operation, and broaden their horizons regarding “green” issues.







2018MIECF ‘Green Public Day’ Raises Public Awareness Environmental Protection

The “Green Public Day” was held on 14 April, marking a fruitful completion of the 2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2018MIECF). The event’s doors were open to the public to increase public awareness of environmental protection. Large numbers of visitors were attracted to the event, creating a lively atmosphere on the exhibition floor.


2018MIECF Successfully Concludes Number of “Green Matching” sessions up 28 percent year-on-year

The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition 2018 (2018MIECF), hosted by the Macao SAR Government, was successfully concluded today (14 April). The three-day event fully demonstrated the benefit of an international environmental protection platform, and promoted exchange and cooperation between “green enterprises” from countries and places along the Belt and Road, the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Portuguese-speaking countries and European countries. The MIECF “green platform” – via its remarkably good reputation – attracted representatives from governmental, industrial and academic fields from around the world to play an active part in the event. The event recorded a 28 percent year-on-year increase in the number of “Green Matching” sessions hosted.


2018MIECF ‘Green Forum’ Discusses Latest Environmental Issues

The “Green Forum” of the 2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2018MIECF) on the second day (13 April) of the 2018MIECF was conducted with four panel sessions and one special session. The guest panellists shared their thoughts on the development status of eco-cities, “green finance”, the “green chemical” industry and other environmental protection initiatives. Ms. Christiana Figueres, a world authority on global climate change, shared during a special session her views on building an eco-city of the future. Other participants from, respectively, Europe and the Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) Region shared their insights during the “Pan-Pearl River Delta Region Session”.


Multiple Exhibition Zones and Exchange Activities Help Enterprises Seize New Opportunities for Green Development

The 2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2018MIECF) continues to serve as a ‘green platform’ for exchanges and co-operation in the environmental protection sector. In line with the national policy, the Macao SAR Government has introduced a number of policies concerning the promotion of environmental protection and promotion of a “green lifestyle”. At the 2018MIECF, the “Green Showcase” exhibition saw a growth in size, featuring multiple exhibition areas, namely: the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area showcase area; the showcase area for green transportation; showcase area for innovative environmental protection technologies; and the “green” construction pavilion. Exhibitors at 2018MIECF expressed satisfaction with the results of their attendance. They were able to take advantage of Macao’s platform role – including its function as a commercial and trade cooperation service platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries – to expand business to markets in Portuguese-speaking Countries. In addition, on the second day of event, there were 217 business-matching sessions.
