Applications for the 36th Macao Young Musicians Competition will end soon

The “36th Macao Young Musicians Competition”, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will be held between 23 June and 15 July in designated venues in Macao. Applications are open from 4 to 15 April. The deadline for applications is 15 April, at 7pm. All interested parties may complete the online registration and submit the documents and registration fee in the designated period of time.


Consumer Council released latest ‘Supermarket price survey’ Surveyed spots included 13 supermarkets in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish

Consumer Council conducted its second ‘Supermarket price survey’ on 13 for April the implementation of Section 2b), Article 10, Law 4/95/M of 12 June. Surveyed locations included supermarkets near Iao Hon Market and the Border Gate area (Portas do Cerco ) in N. Sra. de Fátima Parish.


Tickets for the concerts “Heroes: A Video Game Symphony” and “Jason’s A to Z of Classical Music” by the Macao Orchestra on sale from 15 April

The Macao Orchestra (OM, from the Portuguese acronym), under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, presents the concert “Heroes: A Video Game Symphony” on Saturday, 30 June, at 8pm, at the Venetian Theatre, and the family concert “Jason’s A to Z of Classical Music” on Saturday, 7 July, at 3pm, at the Macao Tower Auditorium. Tickets will be available from Sunday, 15 April, and an early bird 40% discount will be available between 15 and 28 April, subject to certain criteria.

Tourist price index (TPI) for the 1st quarter of 2018

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Tourist Price Index (TPI) for the first quarter of 2018 increased by 6.15% year-on-year to 136.94, on account of higher charges for hotel accommodation and restaurant services, as well as dearer prices of local food products. Among the various sections of goods and services, price index of Accommodation (+19.33%) registered the highest increase, followed by indices of Transport & Communications (+6.57%) and Food, Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco (+4.53%).


“Green Business Co-operation Day” Discusses Eco-development of Tourism and MICE Industries

The “Green Business Co-operation Day” successfully took place on the first day (12 April) of the 2018 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (2018MIECF). A series of activities including the “Green Forum” and the Signing Ceremony attracted about 470 participants and facilitated the signing of 29 agreements.

The Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition 2018 (2018MIECF) welcomed a world authority on global climate change, current Vice Chair of “The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy” and former Executive Secretary of the “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change” (2010-2016) Ms. Christiana Figueres, as the keynote speaker. In the speech she analysed how to provide a better living environment for people via ecological design and construction, in order to strengthen a sense of community and well-being among people.
