MICE statistics for the 2nd quarter of 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 333 MICE events were held in the second quarter of 2017, including 308 meetings & conferences, 11 exhibitions and 14 incentives. Total number of participants and attendees was 405,000.

Alter the location of the commemorative postmark cancellation service

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that the Temporary Post Counter for “The Commencing Day of the Electoral Campaign for the 2017 Legislative Assembly Election” on 2nd September 2017 from 11:00 to 15:00, the location will be changed from Praça do Tap Seac to Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.


Package tours and hotel occupancy rate for July 2017

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that visitors on package tours increased by 21.9% month-to-month to 819,000 in July 2017 benefiting from the summer holidays, with a year-on-year increase of 22.8%. Package tour visitors from Mainland China (669,000), the Republic of Korea (38,000) and Taiwan (42,000) rose by 25.6%, 24.8% and 4.8% respectively year-on-year. In the first seven months of 2017, visitors on package tours totalled 4,596,000, up by 12.4% year-on-year.


Government to launch tax relief scheme for flood-damaged vehicles

The Government plans to launch a special tax relief scheme to alleviate difficulties faced by those whose vehicles had flood damage as a result of Typhoon Hato, announced today the Government Spokesperson, Mr Chan Chi Ping.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC from the Portuguese acronym) called a meeting yesterday, 30 August, at 10am, at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building, with the persons responsible and the administrators of temples and churches to discuss the protection and follow-up works after the typhoon. IC will redistribute its budget to offer practical support and implement specific restoration measures, aiming to intensify the restoration and maintenance works of the temples and churches affected by the typhoon.


CE meets with front-line personnel involved in post-storm recovery efforts
