【Gear up for Spring Festival holiday】 MGTO welcomes visitors with diverse active preparations
With the advent of the nine-day Spring Festival Golden Week holiday (15 – 23 February) to unfold in the Chinese mainland this Sunday, Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has been preparing with active measures. Besides organizing mega festivities and diverse community activities, the Office is conducting promotions on different channels, coordinating with the travel trade, conducting patrols with interdepartmental workforce while maintaining close communication with Mainland tourism authorities to safeguard tourism service quality. Preparations are made to welcome visitors to Macao during Chinese New Year for a vibrant experience of “tourism +”, riding on major festivals to foster tourism and economic development.

UM, HK PolyU establish Joint Laboratory for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence and launch dual PhD programme
The University of Macau (UM) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) signed an agreement today (12 February) at UM to establish the first joint laboratory co-funded by Macao and Hong Kong—the Joint Laboratory for Robotics and Embodied Intelligence. The initiative aims to strengthen collaborative innovation in higher education and scientific research in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. In addition, UM and PolyU announced the launch of a dual PhD programme featuring joint supervision by faculty members from both universities, marking a significant step forward in collaboration on frontier technologies and high-level talent development. The joint PhD programme is now open for applications.

【Full Horsepower】Macao Grand Prix Museum presents special activities for Chinese New Year
The Macao Grand Prix Museum (the “Museum”), under the management of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), will roll out a festive activity namely “Full Horsepower Fortune Boost” from 17 to 23 February (1st day – 7th day of Chinese New Year). “Splendid Colours – Embroidery Art Exhibition from Chongqing and Xinjiang” opens at the Tap Seac Gallery
Organised by the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, the Chongqing Municipal Development Committee of Culture and Tourism, and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, coordinated by the Center for Ethnic and Folk Literature and Art Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, and co-organised by the Department of Publicity, Cultural and Sports Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, the exhibition “Splendid Colours - Embroidery Art Exhibition from Chongqing and the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region” was inaugurated today (11 February) at the Tap Seac Gallery. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Acting President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Cheang Kai Meng; the First-Level Inspector of the Chongqing Municipal Development Committee of Culture and Tourism, Xing Jun; the Director of the Center for Ethnic and Folk Literature and Art Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, Lan Jing; the Director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Division of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Luo Jing; and the Member of the Executive Committee of TDM, Cheang Kong Pou.
