Macao Union Medical Center successfully performs the first Mako robot-assisted total knee arthroplasty in Macao

The Islands Healthcare Complex – Macao Medical Center of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “Macao Union Medical Center”) has recently adopted Stryker’s newest Mako orthopedic robotic system, the most advanced in the world, and successfully performed the first Mako robot-assisted total knee arthroplasty in Macao for an elderly woman facing significant challenges in walking due to severe knee flexion and varus deformity. The success of this surgery marks a new chapter in the development of intelligent medical technology in orthopedics in the city.

The Commissioner Against Corruption, Ao Ieong Seong, led a delegation of the CCAC and invited all members of the Monitoring Committee on Discipline of the CCAC Personnel to visit the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong today (20th January), where they met and exchanged views with the Commissioner of the ICAC of Hong Kong, Woo Ying-ming, on issues of corruption fighting, corruption prevention and integrity education, among others.


Cambodia grants visa-free access to Macao SAR Passport holders starting from June 15 this year

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, the Royal Government of Cambodia will exempt the visa requirement for Chinese nationals holding passports of the People's Republic of China (including Macao SAR Passport holders) for four months on a trial basis. From 15 June 2026 to 15 October 2026, Chinese citizens shall be granted visa-free access when entering Cambodia for a maximum stay of 14 days per single entry, without needing to apply for a visa in advance or pay any visa fees, provided that travellers complete the E-Arrival Card prior to entry. Call for proposals by local parade groups and small and medium enterprises for the “2026 Macao International Parade” open from today

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), the “2026 Macao International Parade” (hereinafter referred to as “Parade”) will be held on 29 March 2026 (Sunday). IC is now inviting all registered local associations, schools, small and medium enterprises (hereinafter referred to as “SMEs”) to submit proposals from today until 25 January, at 5:30pm. All interested local groups and SMEs are welcome to participate.

MGTO offers free coach tickets for international visitors in Hong Kong from 20 January to expand international markets

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) partners with the Hong Kong-Macao bus service operator to launch the special offer of free direct coach tickets from the restricted area of Hong Kong International Airport to Macao for international visitors (from beyond the Greater China region) who arrive in Hong Kong. Starting from tomorrow (20 January), the special offer aims to attract more international visitors for an extended journey to Macao, to expand international visitor markets.
