Macao Chinese Orchestra Concert Season Closing Concert “Southland · Four Seasons” to be presented in late July

The Macao Chinese Orchestra 2023-24 Concert Season Closing Concert “Southland · Four Seasons” will be held on 28 July (Sunday), at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Under the baton of Yu-An Chang, a young conductor and winner of the Bucharest Music Institute (BMI) International Conducting Competition, the Macao Chinese Orchestra will join hands with bangdi performer Lai Yi-Chun and sanxian performer Tsai Yu-Tung to present southern compositions and the suite of the four seasons. Tickets are now on sale at the Macau Ticketing Network.


Temporary housing project set for completion this year

To provide temporary accommodation for property owners affected by urban renewal project where their properties are being redeveloped, the temporary housing project located on Lot P in Areia Preta saw the topping out of the main structures of the eight residential towers in December 2023. After the topping out, fitting-out works began and scaffolding removal work on the external walls is currently underway. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.


Exhibition “Old Meets New: A Historical Photo Exhibition Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland” opens on Friday at Macao Museum

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will hold the exhibition “Old Meets New: A Historical Photo Exhibition Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland” from 13 July to 8 September on the 3rd floor of the Museum, presenting to the public the changes that occurred in the city due to its rapid development since the handover. The opening ceremony will be held on 12 July (Friday), at 5:30pm, in the lobby of the Macao Museum. All are welcome to participate.






Seminar of Regional Liaison Network for Hong Kong and Macao of NSFC held at UM

The Inaugural Seminar of the Regional Liaison Network for Hong Kong and Macao of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) was held today (8 July) at the University of Macau (UM). The seminar brought together heads of research management from universities in Hong Kong and Macao to discuss the management of NSFC projects.


Student and Youth Show in Celebration of Macao’s Return to the Motherland cum International Youth Dance Festival to Be Held in July

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macao’s return to the motherland, and in compliance with the SAR Government’s strategy of positioning and developing Macao as “One Centre, One Platform, One Base”, the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), SJM Resorts Limited and Nam Kwong (Group) Company Limited will co-organise the Student and Youth Show in Celebration of Macao’s Return to the Motherland cum International Youth Dance Festival from 20 July to 25 July 2024. With the support from all sectors of the society, around 1,500 performers and more than 400 volunteers will participate in the event, including Macao teachers and students and young people from all over the world, bringing the spectators amazing parade, flashmobs, as well as outdoor and indoor performances. All Macao residents and tourists are welcome to watch the performances and feel the vitality and charm of youth.
