【Grant of usage right】MGTO launches the IP Licensing Program for Macao Tourism Mascot “Mak Mak” to foster cultural tourism and creative industry development

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) launches the “IP Licensing Program for Macao Tourism Mascot ‘Mak Mak’” (the “Program”) to accept applications from enterprises and community associations legally registered or established in the Macao Special Administrative Region. The categories include applications for commercial and non-commercial use. By granting the right of using the Macao SAR’s tourism mascot Mak Mak, the Office encourages entities to harness Mak Mak’s image to develop a diversity of products and experiences for branding Macao as a diverse destination. Their usage is set to elevate the brand’s influence and open up business opportunities, fostering the concerted development between “tourism + culture and creativity”.



Cultural Affairs Bureau sets up “Macao Pavilion” at the 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) showcasing and promoting Macao’s cultural heritage and landscape

The 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) will be held from 10 to 12 April at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo. The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has specially set up a “Macao Pavilion” in the event, themed “Mutual exchange and learning between the Chinese and Western civilisations”, to comprehensively showcase Macao’s unique cultural heritage, as well as large culture and creative events.



CE meets with the President of the Portuguese Parliament

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, met with the President of the Portuguese Parliament, Mr José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, at Government Headquarters in Macao on Friday (10 April). The two sides exchanged views on further deepening the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Portugal, as well as continuing to leverage Macao’s role as a bridge and link between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.




Macao University of Tourism organises 2026 High-Level Forum on Greater Bay Area Tourism Development Spotlighting on Wellness Tourism and the Silver Economy

The 2026 High-Level Forum on Greater Bay Area Tourism Development, jointly organised by the Macao University of Tourism and the China Tourism Academy (Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism), was held with great success today (10 April) at the 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo. Centred on the theme “Vitalising Silver Economy with Wellness Tourism”, the forum brought together experts from government, industry, academia, and research institutions to explore pathways for the high-quality development of the tourism sector in the Greater Bay Area.


IPIM Sets Up Pavilion at MITE to Promote Macao’s Role as a “Precise Connector” for China-PSCs Co-operation

To better leverage Macao’s functions and provide support services for non-local enterprises as a "Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries", the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) has established a themed pavilion at the 14th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE), held from 10 to 12 April. The pavilion comprehensively showcases IPIM’s platform services and features sales of specialty products from Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) and Macao, alongside digital interactive experiences, allowing global traders to gain a deeper understanding of Macao’s role as an economic and trade link.


Cultural Affairs Bureau Online Book Shop will be suspended from 13 to 19 April

In order to provide more stable and convenient services for the public, the Cultural Affairs Bureau Online Book Shop will undergo a system upgrade and maintenance from 13 to 19 April. During this period, the service will be suspended.
