Monetary and financial statistics – August 2025

According to statistics released today (8 October) by the Monetary Authority of Macao, broad money supply retreated in August 2025. Meanwhile, both resident deposits and loans decreased from a month earlier.


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “World Post Day – UPU”

To celebrate the World Post Day instituted by the Universal Postal Union, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at the Philatelic Shop of the General Post Office and the Shop of the Communications Museum on 9th October 2025, to provide commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “World Post Day - UPU”. Opening hours are as follows:


Commemorative postmark cancellation service of “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”

To celebrate the Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Avenida Panorâmica do Lago Nam Van, from 09:00 to 18:00 on 18th and 19th October 2025, to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the “Open Day of Government Headquarters of the MSAR”.


CCAC investigation finds that a public servant allegedly involved in wage fraud by abusing his sick leave

According to the investigation of the CCAC, it is found that a doctor who worked in the Correctional Services Bureau allegedly colluded with multiple doctors who worked in public or private medical institutions of Macao where the latter issued multiple medical certificates for the former and his parents in order for him to falsely obtain sick leave from his department. Over the years, he defrauded wages with a total amount of nearly MOP150,000. The public servant involved in the case, the relevant relatives and the doctors of the private medical institutions were suspected to have committed the crime of fraud and the crime of document forgery provided for in the Penal Code. The public servant involved in the case and the doctors of the public medical institutions were also suspected to have committed the crime of forgery by a public servant. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecutions Office and notified to the relevant departments.


Finale shows of Macao International Fireworks Display Contest are rescheduled to 11 October

Originally scheduled for tonight (6 October), the 33rdMacao International Fireworks Display Contest (two fireworks shows of the British and Brazilian companies) are postponed to this Saturday night (11 October) owing to the impact of Typhoon Matmo on advance fireworks installation and other preparatory tasks. The two fireworks shows will be held at 9 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. this Saturday night (11 October). Macao residents and visitors are welcome to enjoy the two finale fireworks shows at vintage points.


Macao Government Services Centre in Avenida de Venceslau de Morais opens today

The Macao Government Services Centre located on the ground floor of Edifício Mong Son in Avenida de Venceslau de Morais officially opens today (6 October) to provide the public with over 300 services from 24 public departments. The Centre is also equipped with a 24-hour government self-service centre and a designated area for cross-boundary self-services to further provide convenience for the public and promote the connectivity of cross-boundary services.


Announcement of medical service arrangements of Macao Union Medical Center for day following Mid-Autumn Festival

In view of the day following the Mid-Autumn Festival, the outpatient services (including all specialist clinics, the Imagiology Centre, radiation therapy, blood drawing and specimen collection services), the Ambulatory Medical Centre and international medical services of the Macao Union Medical Center will be closed on 7 October (Tuesday). However, inpatient and hemodialysis services will operate as usual.


Residential property price index for June – August 2025

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the overall residential property price index for June - August 2025 was 192.4, down by 0.8% over the previous period (May - July 2025). The index for existing residential units (206.7) decreased by 1.1%, while that for pre-sale residential units (233.6) went up by 0.3%.


Advertising and conference & exhibition organising services survey 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that Gross Surplus of both Advertising and Conference & Exhibition Organising Services industries recorded year-on-year growth in 2024, which was attributed to an increase in the demand for publicity services amid economic revival, coupled with rising number of MICE events.


Results of property management, security and cleaning services survey 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that a total of 234 establishments were engaged in Property Management Services in 2024. Receipts and expenditure of Property Management Services went up by 3.5% and 2.2% year-on-year to MOP1.95 billion and MOP1.82 billion respectively. As regards expenditure, Compensation of Employees (MOP1.11 billion) and Operating Expenses (MOP509 million) grew by 5.1% and 2.5% year-on-year respectively, while Purchase of Goods, Outsourcing & Commissions Paid (MOP200 million) declined by 11.9%. Gross Surplus of the industry totalled MOP138 million.
