UM hosts forum on Hong Kong and Macao pharmaceutical industry development
The ‘2025 Forum on Hong Kong and Macao Pharmaceutical Industry Development—Learning from Neighbours: Fostering an Ecosystem for Medical and Pharmaceutical Advancement’, jointly organised by the Centre for Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences (CPRS) at the University of Macau (UM), the Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (HKAPI), the Pharmaceutical Society of Macao, and the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), was held at UM. The event brought together over 100 experts, scholars, government representatives, and industry professionals from Hong Kong, Macao, and the Chinese mainland to engage in in-depth discussions on key topics, including pharmaceutical policies and regulations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), pharmacovigilance, clinical research and real-world data applications, and accessibility of innovative treatment options. The forum aimed to promote collaborative innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry and support the development of a pharmaceutical ecosystem.

1st “International Forum on Mutual Learning among Civilizations” successfully held Over 300 guests gathered in Macao to promote inter-civilizational exchange and development
Presented by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and supported by the Chinese Academy of History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the “2025 International Forum on Mutual Learning among Civilizations” took place in Macao from 16 to 17 December 2025. Themed “Mutual Learning among Civilizations, Inheritance and Development”, the Forum attracted more than 50 representatives from government departments and international organizations as well as renowned experts and scholars worldwide to give over 20 high-quality keynote speeches, and welcomed more than 300 guests from various sectors home and abroad. The Forum established a platform for exchange among highly advanced civilizations, fully reflecting its cross-disciplinary and high-level international communication.

Macao Polytechnic University and the University of Coimbra Sign Memorandum of Understanding for Institutional Collaboration in Macao-Hengqin International Education (University) Town
To support the Macao SAR government’s endeavours in developing the Macao-Hengqin International Education (University) Town, and to celebrate Macao Polytechnic University (MPU)’s 45th anniversary, Professor Marcus Im, Rector of MPU and Professor Amílcar Falcão, Rector of the University of Coimbra (UC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the two universities. The agreement strengthens strategic collaboration in developing the MPU campus in Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, with a focus on establishing “joint global campuses”. The objective is to foster a hub for international high-calibre talent, thereby advancing the nation’s higher education in the global arena.

Consumer price index (CPI) for November 2025
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for November 2025 rose by 0.72% year-on-year and 0.11% month-on-month. For the 12 months ended November this year, the average Composite CPI grew by 0.29% from the previous period (December 2023 - November 2024).
