UM scholar wins best paper award from INFORMS

Zhang Hongcai, associate professor in the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City at the University of Macau, won the 2025 ENRE Best Publication Award in Natural Resources at the Annual Meeting of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), in recognition of his innovative and influential research contributions. Presented annually to only one paper, the INFORMS ENRE Best Publication Award in Natural Resources is regarded as one of the most prestigious international honours in the field. Since its establishment in 2010, this is the first time a scholar from a Chinese academic institution has received the award.


Cultural Affairs Bureau continues to expand the collection of valuable and rare Books in digital format

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from its Portuguese acronym) has been promoting the digitization of its rare books collection, aiming to preserve valuable local literature and provide convenient access for citizens and researchers. Since 2023, IC has launched the digital versions of two batches of rare books, and has now finished uploading the third batch. Members of the public and researchers are welcome to access the resources via the “Collection of Valuable Electronic Rare Books” section of the IC’s Public Library website.

The public artwork Not Terminal of the “Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2025” is currently on display at the Macao Cultural Centre Plaza, and all are welcome to visit.


Zone 1 of the second phase of South Shore Waterfront Green Promenade opens for use from today

The Municipal Affairs Bureau advances the second phase construction works of the South Shore Waterfront Green Promenade in three zones in an orderly manner according to the plan. Zone 1, with its focus on serving the function of ball courts, is open to the public since 7:00 a.m. of today (17 November). The public can drive and park their cars at the temporary car park in Zone 1 or use the temporary pavement in Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen to enter the zone.


CE to deliver tomorrow 2026 Policy Address

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, will attend at 3pm tomorrow a plenary session of the Legislative Assembly, to deliver the 2026 Policy Address.





Airport has launched 7 smart channels which reduce passenger waiting time and enhance screening operation efficiency

Starting today, the Central Security Screening Zone at the passenger terminal of Macau International Airport has commenced operations with 7 new smart channels, significantly improving screening accuracy and efficiency, thus reducing passenger waiting time and further enhancing travel convenience and comfort.
