“Macao Fashion Pop-up Store” calls for original fashion brands to participate in sales in Guangzhou

In order to promote Macao’s original fashion brands and expand their sales channels in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will set up the “Macao Fashion Pop-up Store” from 23 August to 1 September in Guangzhou. Applications are open from 23 July until 29 July, at 5pm, and application is free.


Outdoor performances of International Youth Dance Festival demonstrate cultural diversity and integration in Macao through dance

Two sessions of outdoor performances for the Student and Youth Show in Celebration of Macao’s Return to the Motherland cum International Youth Dance Festival were successfully held at Tap Seac Square on 23 and 24 July respectively. Dancers delivered a virtuoso performance with wonderful dances, music, lighting and special stage effects, creating a pleasant atmosphere for the double celebration. Audiences were able to enjoy the superb performances up close given by dancers from different countries and regions.


Macao Orchestra Season Closing Concert “Pushing Boundaries” presenting entrancing music by young Japanese pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii

The Macao Orchestra 2023-24 Season Closing Concert “Pushing Boundaries – Nobuyuki Tsujii with Macao Orchestra” will be held on 27 July (Saturday), at 8pm, at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium. Under the baton of Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Macao Orchestra Lio Kuokman, and in collaboration with internationally renowned pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, the Macao Orchestra will present Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff’s magnum opus Piano Concerto No. 3 in D major, concluding the concert season with entrancing music. The concert was highly sought after and tickets for the concerts were sold out.


Cultural Affairs Bureau launches new postcard collection of the “Historic Centre of Macao”

In order to promote the cultural connotations of the “Historic Centre of Macao” to residents and tourists, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) specially organised and launched the new cultural tourism product “Strolling through the World Heritage sites – Postcard Collection of the Historic Centre of Macao”, presenting the unique charm of the Historic Centre of Macao with beautiful watercolours, thereby enhancing Macao’s image as a member of the Organisation of World Heritage Cities and a city of tourism and leisure, and promoting the cultural essence of Macao to the world.


UM summer camp creates academic exchange platform for outstanding university students

The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC) of the University of Macau (UM) organised the 2nd Summer Camp for Outstanding University Students, which attracted the participation of outstanding students from top universities in mainland China and Hong Kong. Through a variety of activities such as academic lectures, laboratory visits, equipment demonstrations and interactive experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of the research characteristics of the state key laboratory and the educational philosophy of UM. The summer camp also served as an academic exchange platform, integrating theoretical learning with practical experience.


Twelve ancient trees newly added to “List of Protected Ancient and Valuable Trees”

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) actively promotes the conservation of ancient and valuable trees and continues to update “List of Protected Ancient and Valuable Trees”. In accordance with the list announced in Chief Executive Writ of Instruction no. 118/2024, twelve ancient trees have been added to the list and three trees have been removed from it in this update. There are 654 ancient and valuable trees in the mentioned list, including those in the list previously announced.


Deputy Director of Macao Liaison Office Lu Yuyin Visits MPU

Lu Yuyin, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, and his delegation visited Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) and were warmly welcomed by Im Sio Kei, the Rector of MPU. During the visit, Lu Yuyin toured the Engineering Research Centre of Applied Technology on Machine Translation and Artificial Intelligence, the Exhibition of Research Results on “One Country, Two Systems,” the Sino-Lusophone Wisdom Exhibition showcasing achievements in interlinguistic and cultural exchange, and the Students’ Union, among other areas. Lu Yuyin expressed full affirmation of MPU’s development and achievements.


Subscription period for the Year of the Snake commemorative coins ends this Friday (26 July)

The online subscription period for the 2025 Year of the Snake commemorative coins will end at 6:00pm on 26 July 2024 (Friday). AMCM would like to remind Macao residents who are interested in subscribing for the said coins to complete the online subscription process before the mentioned deadline.
