UM presents awards to long-serving and outstanding staff members

The University of Macau (UM) today (14 May) held the Long Service Award and Outstanding Administrative Staff Award Ceremony 2024 to honour the dedication and contributions of its faculty and staff. A total of 198 faculty and staff members were awarded Long Service Awards for reaching the milestones of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service. The Outstanding Administrative Staff Award and the Most Creative Slogan Award were also presented at the ceremony.


The 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum & Exhibition to Be Held in Macao from 10–12 June: Facilitating interconnection and interoperability

The 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum & Exhibition (IIICF), jointly organised by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao Special Administrative Region and the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), will take place from 10 to 12 June (Tuesday to Thursday) at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao under the theme “Enhanced Connectivity for Win-Win Co-operation”. This year’s event highlights the expanded exhibition scale and the commitment to fostering deeper synergies between the forum and the exhibition, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of the event.


Rental statistics for the first quarter of 2025

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the average rent per square metre of usable area for shops in Macao was MOP485 in the first quarter of 2025, down by 0.9% quarter-on-quarter. The average rents for office units (MOP290) and industrial units (MOP123) went down by 1.3% and 0.2% respectively quarter-on-quarter, whereas the average rent for residential units (MOP138) increased by 0.4%.


Xia Baolong meets industrial and commercial sectors of Macao(GCS Translation)

On the morning of 12 May (Monday), Director of Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Central and Director of the State Council’s Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office, Mr Xia Baolong, held a panel meeting in Macao with representatives from Macao’s industrial and commercial sectors, focusing on the implementation of President Xi Jinping’s important speeches during his visit to Macao, which promote the development of Hong Kong and Macao, and facilitate in-depth exchanges on quality national development.

The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, said the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government will adhere to the “four expectations” outlined by Director Xia Baolong during his latest inspection tour of Macao. UTM and the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE) join forces to offer Dual Master's Programme

Novel drug developed by UM and CUHK wins gold medal at International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva

A collaborative research led by Zhao Qi, associate professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at the University of Macau (UM), and Leung Kam Tong, assistant professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), has been awarded a Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury at the 50th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva for the development of the ‘Fc-engineered CD9 antibody for blood cancers’.


Awards ceremony held for the 2025 MGM Macao International Regatta Photography Competition

Organized by the Sports Bureau, MGM and the Ursa Major Sailing Management, and co-organized by the Photographic Society of Macau, the 2025 MGM Macao International Regatta Photography Competition was held successfully. The awards ceremony took place yesterday (12 May) at MGM Cotai.
