Cultural Affairs Bureau presents new dance theatre piece Selfish Selfie in November under the “Commissioning Performing Arts Productions” programme
A selected project of the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s programme “Commissioning Performing Arts Productions 2024-2026”, Selfish Selfie is a dance theatre piece that takes the audience into a realm where AI intersects with dance. Directed by Alexis Kam and produced by the Lam Dance Theatre, the new creation will be staged over five shows from November 14 to 16 (Friday through Sunday) at the Macao Cultural Centre’s Black Box II.

Macao Is Awarded “Best BT-MICE City” Once Again Demonstrating Exhibition Strength Continuously Recognised Globally
On 25 September, at the TTG Travel Awards 2025 ceremony held in Bangkok, Thailand, Macao was awarded the title of "Best BT-MICE City." This is the fourth award in the exhibition sector that Macao has received this year, and it marks the third consecutive year that Macao has won an international exhibition award, following the earlier recognition as "Best Convention City (Asia)". The award was accepted by representatives of the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of Macao SAR.

Response assessment to tropical cyclone “Ragasa”
Due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone “Ragasa”, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau issued early warnings on 20 September, indicating that “Ragasa” was expected to reach super typhoon intensity and could potentially cause storm surge flooding comparable to that of “Mangkhut”. Assessments concluded it would pose a severe threat to Macao. In response, the Macao SAR Government was on high alert. The Chief Executive, Mr Sam Hou Fai, convened a special meeting with the five Secretaries to coordinate a series of measures to address Super Typhoon “Ragasa”. Mr Sam instructed all sectors to collaborate, coordinate, and assist one another, ensuring the effective implementation of preventive and response measures to maximize the protection of citizens’ life and property, and to maintain social stability.

Travel agencies survey 2024
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that there were 183 travel agencies operating in 2024. Receipts and expenditure of the industry amounted to MOP5.44 billion and MOP5.08 billion respectively, representing increases of 7.5% and 5.6% year-on-year. The industry registered a Gross Surplus of MOP371 million in 2024, up by 43.6% year-on-year.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that Receipts and Expenditure of the establishments operating in industrial related activities (covering Electricity, Gas & Water Supply and Manufacturing) amounted to MOP12.23 billion and MOP8.58 billion respectively in 2024, up by 1.0% and 4.0% year-on-year. Gross Surplus totalled MOP3.65 billion.

External merchandise trade statistics for August 2025
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that total merchandise exports and imports amounted to MOP1.29 billion and MOP9.85 billion in August 2025, down by 2.3% and 6.1% year-on-year, respectively. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP8.56 billion.

Consumer price index (CPI) for August 2025
Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the Composite CPI for August 2025 rose by 0.27% year-on-year and 0.11% month-on-month. For the 12 months ended August this year, the average Composite CPI grew by 0.25% from the previous period (September 2023 – August 2024).
