Book swap activity “Book for Book” to be held on Saturday and Sunday sharing reading resources in the community
In order to continuously promote a reading culture and reading habits in the community and disseminate the concept of “enriching life through reading”, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym), organises the book swap activity “Book for Book” regularly in various districts. The activity aims to facilitate sharing and the circulation of reading resources in the community through the establishment of a convenient book exchange platform, encouraging the public to create reading habits, jointly developing a cultural atmosphere in the community.

Electoral Affairs Commission deliberates on design of polling booths
Polling booths to be used in the Legislative Assembly Election on 14 September will be equipped with semi-transparent curtains to ensure ballot secrecy, while also allowing polling station staff to conduct appropriate monitoring for any sign of illegal activities.

MPU Successfully Hosts “One Country Two Systems” Study Camp 2025
To deepen understanding among faculty and students from Mainland universities on the successful practice of “One Country, Two Systems” with Macao characteristics and to experience Macao’s development since its return to the motherland, Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) hosted the “One Country Two Systems” Study Camp, which received an enthusiastic response. The closing ceremony of the “One Country Two Systems” Study Camp 2025 was held at the MPU Auditorium, where 153 teachers and students from 11 Mainland universities completed their study journey. Officiating guests included Teng Sio Hong, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) of the Macao SAR Government; Marcus Im, Rector of MPU; Cheang Hong Kuong, President of the Chinese Educators’ Association of Macau; Lao Lai Mui, President of the Macao Catholic Schools Association; Heong Mui, President of the Macau Civil Service Education Association; and Leng Tiexun, Director of the “One Country Two Systems” Research Centre of MPU. They jointly presented completion certificates to participants amid a vibrant atmosphere.

Macao Special Administrative Region adjusts issuance of travel alerts

The number of countries and travel destinations covered by the Macao SAR Travel Alert System is now expanded to 110 in total. Among the new addition of countries or destinations covered by the Travel Alert System, Level 3 travel alert is issued for Iran, Lebanon and Syria while Level 2 travel alert is issued for Pakistan. Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has recently held explanation sessions for the Monetary Authority of Macao, local travel agencies and insurance companies, to solicit their opinions and familiarize them with the information involved and the optimized webpage about travel alerts. In the future, regular evaluations will be conducted upon the issuance of travel alerts for countries and travel destinations along with continuous optimization of the travel alert system.

The State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC) at the University of Macau (UM) organised the 3rd SKL-IOTSC Summer Camp for Outstanding University Students, attracting outstanding students from top universities in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and overseas. Through a variety of activities such as research experiences, academic lectures, and cultural visits, the camp provided an academic exchange platform that integrated theoretical learning and hands-on experience, broadening participants’ research perspectives and helping them explore their academic interests.
