Possible warning signals to be issued due to the impact on a Tropical Depression


Public Library will suspend certain services on 22 September due to its information system maintenance

In order to ensure the proper operation of its information system, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) will carry out maintenance on the information system of the Public Library on 22 September (Monday) from 9:30am to 1:30pm. During this period, library services including the Macao Public Library website, the library catalogue search system and the electronic resources, the mobile application “My Library” and the relevant functions of the Public Library of IC in “Macao One Account” will be suspended or affected. In addition, the circulation services of the Red Market Library and the 24-hour book drops at all the branch libraries will also be suspended during the abovementioned period.

Statistics on electronic payment transaction value – restaurants & similar establishments and retail trade for July 2025

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the electronic payment transaction value (hereinafter referred to as transaction value) for restaurants & similar establishments in July 2025 rose by 5.8% month-on-month but dropped slightly by 0.9% year-on-year. For the first seven months of 2025, the transaction value increased by 2.5% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the transaction value for retail trade in July recorded a month-on-month uplift of 5.4% and a smaller year-on-year decrease of 1.1%. In addition, the transaction value for the first seven months fell by 9.1% year-on-year.


UM holds International Night to promote cultural exchange

The Global Affairs Office of the University of Macau (UM) held the International Night 2025, bringing together over 250 students from 45 countries. Students and faculty members engaged in meaningful cross-cultural dialogue and shared practical insights and experiences about studying overseas.


Industrial exports survey for the second quarter of 2025

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that the surveyed manufacturers of the Industrial Exports Survey became slightly optimistic about the export outlook of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR) for the next six months in the second quarter of 2025. Major exports in the second quarter included garments, pharmaceutical products, electronic products/electrical appliances, alcoholic beverages & tobacco and other metal products. Export prospects were better in the European Union (EU).


Gaming sector survey 2024

Information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) indicated that, as tourism activities resumed steadily, the Gaming Sector showed a gradual recovery and recorded increases in both receipts and expenditure in 2024. Total receipts of the sector (including receipts from gaming and other activities) rose by 23.1% year-on-year to MOP231.45 billion.
