UM holds exhibition and presentation ceremony of incunabulum of Euclid’s Elements

The University of Macau Library (UM Library) held the opening ceremony of the exhibition ‘Timeless Masterpiece: The 1491 Incunabulum of Euclid’s Elements’ and a book presentation ceremony to mark the acquisition of the rare book. The rare book acquired by the UM Library is one of the most precious items among its more than 20,000 rare books, and is also the only incunabulum of Elements that can be found in China. The book is currently on display in the Manuscript Corner on the first floor of the UM Library. All are welcome to visit the exhibition.



Mobile World Congress 2024 – Shanghai

The delegation, led by CTT Director Lau Wai Meng, traveled to Shanghai to participate in the Mobile World Congress 2024 - Shanghai, held from June 26th to 28th. This year’s Congress covered themes such as "5G & Beyond", "AI Economy" and "Manufacturing DX". Influential management seniors from the mobile communications and technology industries were invited to deliver keynote speeches on topics including 5.5G and artificial intelligence. The Congress also featured exhibition areas showcasing the latest technologies, products, and services in the field of mobile communications. Through these activities, the Congress facilitated exchanges, cooperation, and innovations in the aforementioned industries, contributing to deepening CTT’s knowledge in global application solutions and the future development of 5.5G and artificial intelligence technologies.


July is a Contribution Month, FSS Encourages the Use of Electronic Payment Channels

For the Social Security System, July is the contribution month for the second quarter of 2024. The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) has launched the "Make the Social Security Fund’s Payments" service on the "Business & Associations Platform" and "Macao One Account". Employers and arbitrary system beneficiaries can make their payments online, easily and conveniently.

In order to broaden the musical horizons of local young music students, the Cultural Affairs Bureau and Wynn Resorts (Macau), S.A. will co-host the “1st Macao International Children’s Arts Festival - Music Camp”, produced by the Macao Orchestra Company, Limited, from 16 to 21 August. The “Music Camp” held in Macao will feature a number of world-renowned artists, including Joshua Bell, the Grammy Award-winning international violin master, and string musicians from the Academy of St Martin in the Fields Orchestra. In addition to receiving one-on-one instruction, the participants will form a string orchestra with these artists, and among them, the outstanding violin participants will also have an exceptional opportunity to perform with Joshua Bell. Registration for the “Music Camp” is now open. All interested students are welcome to register and submit performance videos for selection.


MSAR Government thanks Central Government for its new policy to facilitate travel of non-Chinese Macao permanent residents to and from the mainland

The Exit and Entry Administration today (1 July) announced a new policy to facilitate travel by non-Chinese Hong Kong and Macao permanent residents to and from the mainland. Under the new policy, starting from 10 July 2024, it is possible for a Mainland Travel Permit to be issued to non-Chinese Macao permanent residents.


“Wealth Partaking Scheme 2024” distribution will be launched tomorrow (July 2)

The “Wealth Partaking Scheme 2024” will be launched from tomorrow until July 31. The subsidy will be made in two ways: bank transfer or mailing cross cheque, with 10,000 Patacas will be distributed to each of the 717,018 permanent residents, and 6,000 Patacas will be distributed to each of the 30,850 non-permanent residents.


MSAR Government strongly opposes authorities in Taiwan region for their defamation and smearing against Macao

The Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government strongly opposes and severely condemns the authorities in Taiwan region for their “defamation and smearing in” in relation to their issuance of a travel warning on 27 June concerning Macao. It is seen as an act seeking arbitrarily to discredit Macao’s legal system for safeguarding national security, and seeking to distort Macao’s political and social development.


Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute Commences Operation on 1 July

According to Administrative Regulation No. 20/2024, the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute commences operation on 1 July 2024. It is a public legal person with administrative, financial and property autonomy, established as a result of the merger between the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, established in 1994, and the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), established in 2004, with a view to optimising the internal structure and enhancing service efficacy and efficiency.


【International exchange】MGTO participates in UN Tourism Meeting and 1st UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism

UN Tourism convened the 36th Joint Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for East Asia and the Pacific & the UN Tourism Commission for South Asia (36th CAP-CSA) and the First UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific in Cebu, the Philippines from 26 – 28 June. Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, attended the Joint Meeting, the Forum and related activities. She was also invited to participate in a panel session at the Forum.
